Boom! Here comes Nicky, and I even brought along a wonderful new ghost friend, even though I couldn't find a good picture of the ghost form!
Full Name: Nick Nicknames/Aliases: The Anthropomorphic Hurricane (self-given), The Fool of the Desert, The Idiot with the Swords. Age: 23 Gender: Male Gift: Mental Weapon Summoning/Levitation Whenever Nick touches a weapon, he stores it in a 'vault' within his mind. He can then summon a copy of that weapon and move it with his mind. He can currently summon a total of six weapons at a time before it causes large-scale internal damage though, and even summoning a single weapon causes a certain level of strain to his brain. This strain grows for things with lots of moving parts like firearms, to the point where he can only summon two rifle-level guns at one time without his brain exploding. Finally, while difficult to accomplish, if one of his weapons should break properly, it has a similar effect to a flashbang going off directly in front of his eyes. Loyalty: Just another dumb Ashlander. Description: Nick is tall and somewhat muscular, with short, messy black hair and a smile that all too often gets mistaken for a smirk when it really, really isn’t… Personality: In a word, Nick is friendly. Like, stupidly friendly. He is the kind of person who will try to start a conversation and help people whenever he can, whether he's in a town centre full of friends or a secluded tavern filled with generic baddies. His judge of character is almost famous for how terrible it is, something that can be clearly seen during interaction with some of the less savoury members of society. It definitely takes a lot to make him legitimately annoyed. Should you actually manage to get him angry, however, his entire demeanour will change. He will grow cold, calculated, and quiet, and fight with an almost mechanical efficiency. Get him beyond that point, and he will tear through any opposition to reach you. In the end though, he's very naive, hoping for the best of people even when it’s clear that someone is beyond saving. He believes that almost anyone can be redeemed, sometimes acting rather desperately to prove that belief is correct. Perhaps he has his reasons, but with the exception of those who form a particularly close bond with him, a proper explanation could not be expected. Skills: He is quite skilled with multiple forms of weaponry, spending a good chunk of his time practicing with the ones he summons. He can be surprisingly clever and efficient when making plans, and he's even better at improvising when said plans fail horribly! The improvisation may not always include smart actions, but it usually works out... He's not a bad cook, at least according to him. This rarely comes up though, so whatever. Weaknesses: He can be kind of an idiot, especially during the heat of the moment, and often makes reckless, impulsive decisions that get him in trouble. He has a weird sense of humour, with many of his jokes just not landing, and it’s not uncommon for some of the worse ones to leave people questioning his sanity. His weapon summoning can take a lot out of him, depending on the intricacy of the weapon being summoned. Specifically, a large number of moving parts within a weapon will make it take a decent amount of energy to summon. Even when his stupid decisions don't end up getting him into fights, his face makes every genuine smile he attempts look like an antagonistic smirk enough to usually drag him into them anyway. Brief History: Not a lot is actually known about Nicks past. He simply appeared in a random town a couple of months ago, entering the tavern and asking the nearest person if there was anything he could do to help them, while simultaneously asking why no one was answering him when he tried to talk to them. Two days later, he could be seen in the outskirts of the town, surrounded by the small gang of bandits led by the man he'd approached in said tavern. No one knows exactly what happened in those two days, and the only clues to what it might have been was the cold glare on Nicks face. Finally, after what felt like hours but was really just minutes, Nick made his move, showing himself as the true badass he was. He summoned a zweihander and threw it at the man. And then sprinted past him when he dodged it, terror clear on his face. As Nick dashed back into the wasteland, the leader of the bandits took his gang and gave chase, shouting about how he would teach him how they deal with people who pull stunts like his. Screams, shouts and gunfire rang could be heard all the way back in town for the entire day, many of them clearly Nicks from the voice, and only stopping after three or four hours. When they finally did stop, a group of lawmen travelled to the sight to investigate. Instead of the single, obliterated corpse they expected to find, they were surprised to see a majority of the gang, all unconscious but still alive, tied up and left lying on the ground. Scratched into the dirt next to them was a short message apologising for the noise and a crudely drawn picture of Nicks smiling face. And so began the tale of the Fool of the Desert. Other: I mean, I'm sure anyone whose seen the show I'm referencing will realise who Nick is based on, just by the personality, but I added a nice new stupid nickname just in case. It's also his favourite character, hence why he gave that nickname to himself. However, unlike the usual version of this power, her natural form is actually the incorporeal one, with her actually having to push herself to take on a normal, physical form. This can be irritating, as it takes considerable effort for her to shift, and it makes something as simple as eating a job that can leave her exhausted. Still, it has its benefits, leaving her pretty much untouchable by physical dangers. As a side effect of her powers, she can choose to pass on the incorporeal aspect to objects she touches directly, although it is extremely difficult to change anything that’s particularly heavy, and cannot be applied to any living thing. For these reasons, she usually only uses it for clothes. Loyalty: All the people of the world! Her friendship spread throughout the people as if it were a plague! Description: Well, usually she’s transparent and blue, so there’s that. The same goes for her clothes, which usually takes the form of a simple shirt and pants beneath a long cloak, which somehow seems to flutter even though the wind shouldn’t be able to affect it.. She rarely wears shoes, because there isn’t really that much point when anything sharp on the ground just goes through her. While in her corporeal form, she has blonde hair, which she usually keeps in a short ponytail, and brown eyes. One particularly noticeable thing about her is the almost omnipresent smile. Even when she’s angry, which is rare enough, it’ll practically never leave her face. Of course, in the latter case, said smile is anything but friendly, often coming across as downright terrifying. Personality: Meri is an optimist in the same way that the Ashlands are a little dusty. Bubbly, loud and always ready to charge headfirst into a situation, there’s very little that could bring a girl like her down. Maybe it’s because of the fact that almost nothing can actually stop her, or that pain is a fairly foreign concept, but she is quite capable of finding the bright side of things even as the world burns around her. However, she also has a fairly short attention span, and will regularly lose focus and search for new ways to entertain herself. More often than not, this ends with her trying to prank people by pretending to be a ghost, revealing a mischievous nature that probably would have gotten her killed by this point if not for her ability to avoid most physical attacks. Skills: Through experimenting with her powers, she’s developed a pretty good sense of timing, being able to predict when she needs to turn corporeal or incorporeal to avoid injury and make a counterattack. She also has a very good grasp on the theoretical side of hand to hand combat, although hasn’t really gotten much of a chance to put this knowledge to practice. Despite her disgust at the fact, she is actually ridiculously good at being a merchant, with an aptitude for haggling reading the market and managing money. Weaknesses: Turning corporeal takes a lot of energy, and extended use of the process will quickly leave Meri exhausted. A lot of actions necessary to keep herself alive, such as eating and drinking, require her to turn corporeal, leaving herself vulnerable to ambush. Despite her incorporeal nature allowing her to avoid physical damage, energy based sensations still seem to be able to cause her pain, even though they don’t actually injure her. For example, she can still feel heat and cold even while incorporeal. She has no idea why this is, but the fact that it can hurt her without actually doing any damage just seems to make the whole thing worse, as it leaves her open to the possibility of continuous torture without the risk of death. Brief History: To any who knows Meri currently, the girl she was just five years ago would be practically unrecognizable if not for the whole ‘blue and see through’ thing she has going on. She was born to an Erubescan merchant family, who expected her to continue the family tradition and focus on learning how to manipulate the economy to her favour. Naturally, she found this entire aspect of her life incredibly boring, often drifting through walls, and occasionally even the floor just to get out of listening to her parent’s lessons. The only time she ever had a real interest in the idea was when her family would travel to sell their wares, and she could see the world outside of their manor. The real world, where real people lived. Interesting people who didn’t spend their lives staring at numbers and trying to manipulate them just to get a little richer, but instead led their own lives with trials and rewards she would likely never know. However, it seemed that she would get the chance to have some new experiences after all, although the means to do so came in possibly the worst form imaginable. A bandit attack. Before she even knew what was going on, most of their caravans guards had been killed and within seconds of the realisation hitting, so were her parents. Terrified, she could only watch frozen as the bandits tried to attack her as well, only to realise that all their attacks simply passed through her. After a few moments, she finally realised she needed to run, before one of them discovered how to hurt her, and took off into the wastes. For three years after the attack, Meri remained missing, as if she had been completely wiped from the earth. However, one day the now seventeen year old ghostly girl reappeared, wandering into a small town deep within the Ashlands, a large grin stretched across her face. When some of the inhabitants asked what had her so happy, she simply told them that she had met someone who reminded her how to smile again, and that she’d decided she was going to do the same. And so began the tale of the Grinning Ghost. Other:
