Classified SHIELD documents were then leaked by Lois Lane of The Daily Planet to reveal an extensive history of superpowered do-gooders that have operated in secret, such as Captain America's The Invaders and The Justice Society. As such, this is a 'Year One' style RP where the big name heroes (Superman, Cap, Batman, Spidey, Wonder Woman and the like) are just barely cutting their teeth in the world and are considerably different than their usual comic book counterparts - changed at the players' discretion. The currently established heroes will have been around for nine months, and with a time skip implemented at the time of Season Two, it will be roughly around Christmas in IC time. For example, in this universe, Peter Parker never became Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy has been the predominant webslinger of New York in his place. Superman is alot rougher around the edges and headstrong, though his moral compass remains relatively the same and his powers work much differently than in DC lore. The Fantastic Four hail from another universe altogether, having transcended the multiverse to arrive from another game's continuity. And Batman is a barely-held-together schizophrenic who suffers from vivid hallucinations and has no qualms with using firearms. Those are just a few instances in which player freedom is encouraged in re-imagining the heroes of this universe. There are limitations, as you can only have one character per person, there are no villain PC's allowed in the interest of letting hero characters develop their 'world' inside of the universe, and no OC's are permitted. But beyond that, if you're willing to work with other players to establish your concept, you can go nuts. Perhaps you want Iron Man to have been Rhodey all along and Tony is his arch nemesis? Go for it. The paths you choose dictate how your character becomes a legendary hero in their own right. This RPG allows Casual to Advanced roleplaying, so be as detailed and descriptive as you like. Tell your stories from the narrative of your choosing. And more importantly than anything, have fun. The Structure In our first full season, we ran the game for just a little over three months and had everyone close out their story arcs before the curtain dropped. This was accomplished in the span of around 500 IC posts, so that's the target for this season aswell. In the interest of keeping people on their toes, 'MME's were introduced - Major Multiplayer Events. These events, as written and dictated by the GM's, are optional chances in-game to have your character interact with multiple PC's and help defend against a common threat. In the Season 1, it was The Silver Surfer. In Season 2, well, you'll just have to wait and see. But the majority of the time, you're allowed to either tell your own singular story or work with others to interact on a one-on-one basis. Season Two's IC thread will launch Monday, October 8th. In the meantime, you can apply for a character not already taken (the roster is up to date), and wait for a 24 hour period to see if that character is contested. If it isn't, and the GMs have no issues with your app, you'll be approved and ready to play when the IC launches. If you want to apply post-launch, there will be no 24 hour period and your app will be judged automatically for either approval or denial at the GM's discretion. The application period is indefinite, so hop in at any time. We'd love to have you and whatever concepts you'd want to throw our way!
