Name Casper ‘Cassie’ James Birthday March/15/1997 Age 21 Appearance 136 lbs. Has a small scar below his right eye. It makes for a good conversation starter. Position Neighbor to the right. He only barely afforded the house with the help of his best friend who lives with him (and a not insubstantial donation from his best friend’s parents). Secret Public Secret - Homosexual. Not flamboyant or even obviously gay, but he is very gay. Private Secret - Hush. School He does not. Occupation He’s an electrocardiograph technician at the nearest hospital. Personality He’s... a bit quirky. He almost never full on smiles, but does a sort of weird half-smile and occasionally grins. He has a tendency to flirt with most guys unless he’s on the job, where he is serious and not prone to messing about. Off the job he’s the complete opposite, a carefree and go-with-the-flow type of guy. He loves reading, cooking, and petting kittens . He hates spiders (and not for the reason you think) and arrogant people. He is absurdly loyal to his friends, willing to stick up for them no matter what, but on the other hand, he’s very strict in what he considers a friend, or possibly just picks friends based on a whim. Short Bio Casper was born to unknown parents and grew up in a children’s home. The other orphans there weren’t the nicest people by a long shot, but he made one good friend, a boy named Ian who didn’t live in the home, instead with his parents. The two grew up close, for all intents and purposes brothers. The other children made fun of them for their wide-eyed innocence and ignorance, which, considering how young they were, really shouldn’t have been a big deal. Still, they always played together after school. In middle school, the two started getting bullied more frequently. The older kids at the home and the older students called them names like faggot, queer, fairy. They pushed them down in the hallway. On rare occasions, they just skipped straight to the beating part. Ian and Casper never told anybody about this, though, because they agreed that they both had to man up and take it if they wanted to get past school years. Eventually people got bored of messing with them and moved on to less stubborn targets, though the kids at the children’s home still messed with Casper. Casper didn’t mind, as long as he had Ian. It was in high school that Casper began to realize that he might be gay. By sophomore year, he had finally stopped denying it, and, almost resignedly, admitted he was gay and told Ian. Ian said he didn’t mind, and in junior year, Ian admitted he wanted to experiment. So they kissed, maybe occasionally slept in the same bed when Casper went over to Ian’s house. But Ian said, eventually, it wasn’t for him, though it hadn’t been too bad. Around the same time, Casper met an openly bisexual boy named Anton who he developed feelings for, despite Anton’s girlfriend. However, senior year of high school, Anton, to everyone’s shock, died at the age of 18. His death left an impact on Casper, who had become close friends with him. At the end of high school, Ian’s parents, who were substantially wealthy, generously offered to pay for a small house for Casper and Ian to live together in, mostly because they both planned on working at the nearby hospital and partly because they made Ian and Casper promise to pay them back at some point. They agreed to the deal, and now live together, Casper working as an EKG tech at the hospital and Ian doing the same, at least when he isn’t taking afternoon classes at the university.
