You followed that dark path that you always do. No matter how far you traveled on it, it remained the same. Suddenly, you noticed something. A leaf moving differently, an inaudible crunch, you could feel it all. Your senses never lied to you before. Silently, you drew your bow and nocked an arrow. Without any hesitation, you fired it into the darkness. The arrow collided with iron flesh, the noise awakening whatever ambush was coming. From the darkness, three shades attacked you. With a quick slash, you move back. The first shade crumbles into nothing. The second shade attacked you from behind. But you knew. A quick spin dug your blade deep within its head. The final shade kept its safety with a long dinstance. It chanted in an inhumane tongue. Ahm'omoz gluth vu. The words filled your skull. There was no time to charge the enemy or prepare your bow. But you had words of your own. Before the demon could finish, you pointed your sword and quickly chanted. 'Eir' Your blade glowed with an ethereal light and you thrust it towards the distant shade. A bolt of magic arced off of your sword, driving directly into the shade's heart. The shades had all faded away, leaving nothing but for you to follow your path once more.
[sub]Affinities[/sub]
Swords, Bows
[sub]Skills[/sub]
Retreating Slash A quick slash of the sword that flows into a quick backstep. Deals moderate damage and sends you further back. Driving Slash A heavy slash that drives through the enemy, dashing past them and taking an advantageous position. The strike deals moderate damage. Precise Strikes Moving targets are just as easy to hit as stationary ones. If you attack an enemy that has recently moved, the attack more easily hits vitals, dealing additional damage. Magic Tongue By chanting a magic word, you can cast a magic long forgotten. You have limited magic potential, currently only able to say four magic words per rest. The old word you can remember is Eir. Eir can be cast on your sword, allowing it to arc onto a far target for a moderate amount of damage; cast instead of an arrow, dealing bonus damage; or used as a word itself, dealing low damage at will. ----- Starting Equipment: Battered Katana Old Wood Shortbow 6x Arrows + Damaged Leather Quiver

Nano Lemmings

_____________________________________________
Awoken
_____________________________________________ Who was I? Your mind chipped away at the dark whispers. "Feast," Were you the man who fought against fate? "Devour," Were you the boy in the tree? "Consume," Were you the girl who sang? Stardust itself is incredibly hot, able to warp the metal it touches. Minor Miracle A gift of miracles was given unto you. It wasn't a performance meant for the masses. It was you singing for yourself. You stood in that ruined chapel and looked down at the wooden pews. Each one was destroyed, damaged, and rotten from years of disuse. The entire place was in disrepair, you sang with everything you had. It was the only comfort you had in this foreign land, after all. Even if your audience was little more than termites and rats, you put every bit of your soul into that performance. The ruinous chapel seemed to glow as you imbued some new life into this foreign place. In a moment of passion, you forgot the entire reason why you were in this place to begin with. But, spurred by your voice, the enemy came in. The doors to the chapel slammed open and your passion had been forced into a cold lucidity. There stood the demons whose land you had trespassed. Demons charged at you. With a sigh, you grabbed your greatsword and stood at the ready. Vicious Mockery A profanity laced insult so vile and putrid that it physically damages the target. While the damage can vary depending on the insult, it often taunts enemies and makes them want to hit you instead of anyone else. Your village was assailed by orcs. They killed, pillaged, and destroyed without a hint of remorse. Your parents had died trying to hide you, but an orc had heard you whimpering in that closet. His hand burst through the weak wooden panels and grabbed you by the hair. It dragged you towards the town square where all of his comrades sat. Was this the end? Were you going to die? You were tossed onto the ground, too weak and afraid to even look up. You heard a large hammer being lifted up above you. All you could do was close your eyes, so you closed them and waited. A scream. No, this was the yell of a man. You felt his heavy footsteps beside both sides of you. Then, an ear piercing collision of steel woke you up. With newfound vigor, you looked up. You were nestled between the man's legs. The orc with the hammer was annoyed, his allies caught off guard. The man bellowed 'go' at the top of his lungs, causing each and every orc to become disoriented. As they struggled to wield their weapons, he pushed on. You, understanding his warning, ran to the safety of a half demolished house and watched the man. He pushed on. Wielding a large tower shield and a heavy francisca, he fought orc after orc. They all fell to his might. No matter what attack the orcs tried, his heavy plates seemed to reflect every attack. All you could think of was that you wanted to become like him. For better or for worse, you followed him. Decades passed. Wielding a handaxe and protected by heavy plate and a tower shield, you took the same path he did. As you traveled through the lands, you saw it. Smoke coming from a village. You ran as fast as you could, an inhumane sprint that couldn't even wind you. You were too late. It was unfortunate, but the orcs had already pillaged this town. You could hear something amiss: a whimpering, someone who was afraid. You dashed towards it, only to see a young child cowering on the ground. In front of him, an orc wielding a large hammer was about to slam it down. You moved faster than any human could. Standing above him, you blocked the swing with your tower shield. Your mouth opened as you bellowed the only words that came to mind. You had to see him. In a panic, you burst from room to room, uncaring of the dangers each one presented. They took note every time they saw you. They tried to chase you down, but they were too slow. Even while you wore those robes, the carnage unfolding around you was no match for your speed. You had to save The Father, even at the cost of your own life. Finally, after running through dozens of bloodied rooms, you arrived at the den of The Father. You burst through the door like a bat out of hell and quickly slammed it behind you. The Father was bleeding heavily and surrounded by others just as wounded as he. He wasn't going to make it. He told you to escape with your life, but you refused. Not without him. Not without the rest of the clergy. You clasped your hands together and recited that old hymn, a comfort for the lost. Per Ardua Ad Astra Altiora Petamus Volente Deo Lucete Stellae The clergy looked in awe as your prayer, nothing more than a basic protection, had called forth a being. Behind you was a knight as bright as the sun. Twice the size of any mortal, he knelt before the clergy and you. His armour was undeniably beautiful, as if god had sculpted it himself. You never really liked that quote. Mostly because you were a ranger, and that meant you were on point. The jungle was no friend to anyone. Wild animals often attacked. It was a humbling experience to not be on the top of the food chain. This path was especially bad; it had been trapped by some of the locals. While the traps were meant for wild animals, people like you often got caught in these traps. But you were a bit more aware than the average person. These traps, however, were really well hidden. You took one step too many and managed to get hit by a snare. The vine wrapped around your leg, launching you upwards. Still, you didn't let go of your crossbow. You held it tighter than a greevil holding gold. Then, you noticed something. A touch of color out of place. It wasn't moving and it was only a speck different. You took your crossbow, held upside-down, and carefully positioned a bolt onto it. You pulled the trigger, the bolt launching directly into the out of place color. Thud. It sunk deep into the body of a large snake. Camouflaged with the tree, it was a miracle you could even see it. The snake's body fell and collided with the ground. A breath of relief escaped your lips as you went to grab your machete. Instead of a handle, all you could grasp was air. A quick look down revealed your machete halfway sunk into the soft mud below. A quick sigh escaped your lips as you spoke to yourself. The rough stone walls offered no help to your trials. Still, you moved from wall to wall, avoiding the comforts of the torches that lined the walls. You felt a presence meters ahead of you. With twin blades in hand, you dashed forwards. With each step managing to be quieter than the last, the presence couldn't even tell you were nearby. Quickly moving past it, your blades struck twice; the left had sunk into the foe's neck and the right had dug into the foe's chest. In one swift spin, the blades had released themselves, only leaving the recently-deceased corpse to fall. You didn't stop moving, but you sheathed one blade. The other blade was still dripping with blood. Using your fingers, you dragged them across the blade to collect what blood you could. Carefully, your fingers dragged beneath your eyes and over the bridge of your nose. Suddenly, you saw another presence. Though, this time, he was charging right to you. Your face contorted into one of panic as his lantern illuminated your face. Both you and the man kept right. Such a disguise was rudimentary, but could easily fool any people in the dark.
