Heavily leans towards short-sleeve oxford shirts, button-down t-shirts and thin wool sweaters.
PERSONALITY
It's a hard task to wrap your head around Kirk, to the point where not even he can do it. His personality is entirely dependent on his current friend circle, or even the types of people he's generally around. He knows what he has to do and say to make people happy, so he does it, or vice versa to get people off his back. Due to this, it's hard to tell what elements of Kirk's personality are his own volition or a result of influence from others. However, if you examined his attitude in different friend groups, you'd find a few traits that don't disappear in the presence of others — ones so important and essential to his character that they slip through the cracks each and every time. This is also to say that Kirk isn't really a social butterfly, just someone that finds mutual traits with others and fills in the gaps where he can. At his core, Kirk is determined but stubborn. Growing up like he did meant a strong sense of decision making was hard-coded into him from a young age, and has stuck with him to this day. It can be both a strength and weakness given the right context, though it ends up being the latter more often than not. His determination spawned off into some odd form pride, which then mutated into a virtualised sense of confidence. Really, Kirk isn't comfortable in his own skin at all, but has grown to care so little about himself that he's fine with acting like an idiot and telling embarrassing stories should the opportunity arise. If anything, his self-loathing helps to balance his anxiety and inability to interact with people he doesn't know, because he can force himself to by saying "hey, who fucking cares". Luckily, Kirk can get adjusted to people quickly, helped in large part by his ability to appeal to shared traits and interests. In short, Kirk does what he must to get through the barrier of social interaction that comes with the paths he pursues.
UPBRINGING
The process surrounding Kirk's birth was a complicated and dramatic affair, perhaps foreshadowing the boy's whole life. Kirk Weber I, the man himself, was merely an admin at Tempest Solutions at that time, jumping through the all hoops he could in hopes of a promotion, even if it meant helping technologically inept people with the viruses they accidentally downloaded 10 times. Being the real family man he was, trying to balance extra work time to provide for his wife Mary and the soon-to-be birth of his son took a toll on him. Eventually, after repeated reassurance from Mary, he made the decision to be at work on the expected arrival date. This would be a decision he would grow to regret for the rest of his life — the downfall of his smoke and mirrors. In truth, he was at work that day, but didn't make going to the hospital a priority, favouring going home with a coworker and getting it on. Upon calling the workplace and being told her husband had already left, Mary's world came crashing down as all the lies unravelled. The divorce papers were ready by the time they were discharged from care. Kirk gained full custody of his son without much of a fight, Mary not wanting a constant reminder of the love she had lost. He took some time to think, marrying the woman who helped the downfall of his previous marriage and working overtime for promotions. Kirk I climbed the ladder as Kirk II crawled along the floor, slowly going through all the stages of learning and growth. His childhood sense of wonder was left undisturbed for many, many years — his father's new marriage was surprisingly functional and happy. Elementary and middle school (private, of course) went by without a hitch, letters of praise and academic achievement often appearing through the letterbox. Unfortunately, being above pretty much all of your peers gains unwanted attention, leading to unwanted results. Suicide became a morbid contemplation of his when he was only 12, becoming known to his father not soon thereafter, who immediately got him the help he needed. The young Kirk pushed through and proved to be a fast and efficient learner over the next 2 years, gaining stellar grades and acceptance into King's Academy, with high recommendation from his father. The family moved to Crown Heights, being not that far away as they were already living in Florida, and the rest is history. Kirk is healthy and happy, but anxious about the year to come. Something's telling him it won't be as easy to keep his head down this time.
FAMILY
Kirk Weber I • Father • CFO at Tempest Solutions Mary Weber, née Jameson • Biological Mother • Divorcée Lianne Weber • Step-Mother • Freelance Web Designer, formerly Tempest Solutions
MISCELLANEOUS
Christopher McCrory • #bc8dbf My song of the month is probably Neon Gravestones by Twenty Øne Piløts. I hope the upbringing section is okay, it was a pretty new concept to me since I'm more used to exposition through interaction.
