Madriel is a member of the rebellion and has been trained for such since birth. His father, who is Deeandra Martell's son, is a fierce follower of Seraphion's cause and trained Madriel to become a warrior to the cause. Most of Madriel's childhood was spend studying and practicing his magic, aswell as swordsmanship classes so that he could infiltrate the Knight division and become a spy as soon as he got older. His mother, who comes from another high class family, was persuaded by Madriel's father to join the rebellion and she helped him shape their child into a soldier. After graduating from the Academy, Madriel successfully joined the Knight division at 50 and has worked there ever since.

Because of his strict upbringing, Madriel has no sense of humor at all and takes everything literally. The first time people meet him they think he's putting on an act, but after spending some time with him, they realize that he's not actually playing around and that he's 100% serious about everything he does. Emotions confuse him and relationships are a mystery to him, as he doesn't fully understand emotional attachment. As a child, he was hit whenever he showed any kind of emotion, like smiling or laughter, so he rarely has any other expression on his face. He doesn't like to talk to Abiel, in fear that their secret identities will be found out, but he will work with him on missions that Seraphion assigns them. He has no regard for his own self worth and sees himself only as a weapon that Seraphion can use to further the rebellion.[/center]
