Jo listened to Vera with half an ear, but she did listen. She was trying to keep up with the historical knowledge being tossed around, but she felt a tad useless. After all, they had powerful minds along with them on this quest. What did she truly bring to the table? Still, she was branded and it seemed she was drawn to this. She was also tougher than she looked. If there truly was danger following them (as recent events seem to have shown), then she would do her best to battle them.

Nora seemed kinder to her, which was a great thing to see. The girl would need work, but she would become something. Jo was sure of it. And their new companion, the pretty girl, now that she was paying attention fully, seemed to be the sister of George. How delightful! Jo breezed over and joined the conversation.
