Your village needed you, but for some reason, you left it. Your yearning of something more than the mundane was naive and impulsive, but it was who you are and you are proud of that fact. Your path led you through the world that you have known for the last eighteen or so years of your life. This world is huge and unexplored, though what is explored is known through the petty Kingdoms that make up the "civilized" portion. But you are not a king or princess. You are on the bottom of the totem pole. Or mostly bottom. But you believe through great effort, luck, or skill you can climb the pole and craft a legacy that is more than mundane. But the life of an adventurer is not so easy. The gods are not kind to those who are unprepared or cocky! The gods are like a cruel mistress without a much-needed bubble bath. For centuries, monsters and demons have been a constant. Goblin hordes shuffle in the darkness like the mythical dwarves once did, spiders skitter within the largest forests and mountains, and birds of prey look for their next meal with a insaitable hunger. But the darkest things are not the monsters that roam the landscape, but rather the corruptable spirit of human and elf alike -- a spirit that demons felt from across the void. All it took was the right amount of desperation from the mages who hid in their fortresses and enclaves from the devouring hordes. Dark magic helped in repelling the monsters who were still picking their teeth from the bones of the dwarves, but ultimately it would create a cycle of consorting with non-primordial magics. Years upon years after the use of dark magic to fell a good portion of the goblinoid population, one mage was possessed by a demon whom would become known as The Demon King. With the help of a fallen angel (and the advent of holy magics) the Demon King was destroyed and sealed away. Dark magics were outlawed in most petty kingdoms and a rebuilding era would begin. It has been two hundred years since this occured. In the township of Ilagorn, one chapter of the Adventurer's Guild is doing business as usual. For some reason you appeared at their doorsteps, hungry from adventure. What is your story?

...........................................................................................................................

...........................................................................................................................

The world is a large and mostly unexplored place. Such things are the fighter, cleric, rogue, and the mage. Interpretations include things like the ranger, assassin, duelist, brawler, wizard, witch, paladin, hunter, and many other things but such things cannot be described to newbie adventurers so we must go with the basics. Each class is trained through adventurer's guild experts or experience in developing things on their own. One is faster for acquiring new knowledges, but also much more costly. Those who struggle to handle slimes and goblins early on often depend on these experts at the cost of their wealth. Generally though, a newly minted type of person holds at least the fundamentals and a few abilities. I will direct said abilities, though you are free to suggest ideas or even give alternate suggestions. But level one of sorts will be set. That said we should note this story is less about crunch-a-dunch and more about feelings, bonds, trauma, and watnot. Characters will be expected to have a degree of plot armor and I will be very forgiving. But you will maybe get injured and have to deal with that. You might have to deal with PC death, though, so keep in mind that you might have to make new character later in the story. In addition to class I will ask about the profession your character abandoned and allow you some passive skills to go with what you learned in your old trade. For example, if you were a blacksmith you will be talented in apprenticeship blacksmithing and stuff. I will leave fairly open for creative development! This also includes your childhood heirloom and I will judge sheets on how well people balance class, profession, and backstory. Oh! Races should be human or elf!
