I feel like if Wanda had let them just straight up destroy Vision for everyone's sake right there and then in Wakanda it would've saved a lot of trouble, especially since Vision died anyway. Doctor Strange saw all of those futures after the decision to preserve Vision, right? What wouldve happened if they decided to destroy both him and the stone in one go? Unless Doctor Strange saw every outcome with that in mind.

Yes, that's the point. Captain America says "We don't trade lives" and that he didn't have a choice when he made his sacrifice in World War 2. The Avengers refusing to sacrifice Vision is in direct parallel to Thanos being willing to sacrifice Gamora. It's why in the end Thanos wins and the Avengers don't. Had they killed Vision immediately, things go differently but the end result is likely the same. Yes, by the time Strange sees the different outcomes it's after the decision has been made to try and extract the Mind Stone but fourteen million outcomes is a lot of outcomes and there's no reason to believe that Thanos couldn't get the Mind Stone even if Vision was destroyed prior to Thanos arriving on Earth - which by that point he was virtually unstoppable anyway.
