[indent]Sarah's greatest fear is the internet and video games suddenly disappearing from existence. That won't ever happen, though, hopefully.

[indent]So, you have people who actually didn't want to have kids adopting their deadbeat sister's daughter after she overdosed on heroin and died. Sarah never met her mom outside of being a baby, where she was much too young to remember anything about those days. Instead, her current parents are actually her biological aunt and uncle. But, that didn't mean that they [i]wanted[/i] to adopt Sarah. They were in the crowd where they didn't want to have kids because they found them to be too much of a nuisance and just overall not really up their alley. However, as much as they didn't want to be involved, Sarah was very well a piece of their blood and flesh just being left alone and without parents. As a result, Sarah was taken in by her aunt and uncle despite their wishes and took on the responsibility of raising their niece.

But it didn't mean they did a great job. Most of the time, they stuck Sarah in front of a screen of some sort, whether it'd be an iPad or a television or a computer. They figured that it did a better job of keeping her company and entertained than the two of them could. Were they willing to feed, bathe, and change her poopy diapers? Yeah, they were. But they didn't know how to interact with her for the most part. Sesame Street carried the task of raising Sarah on its back until it was time for her to go to school. Due to the fact that she didn't really interact with other people as a wee lass, she didn't really know how to interact with her future peers.

To this day, she still doesn't. In person, Sarah is about as awkward as you could get. A lot of social situations and cues go over her head. It's not that she doesn't recognize them, she just doesn't know how to react to them because she's never been in that sort of situation before. However, life digitally was much, much different for her. The online world was where she thrives most, mostly because she loses herself in video games and tries to escape the harsh reality of - well - existing. As a result of her attempts to escape from reality, she had gained quite the skill in the various video games that she'd played. Ironically, she spends three days per week talking to strangers on the internet while she plays video games, while she struggles to interact with people she's known since preschool.
