[indent]Akane is very upbeat and enjoys living every day to the fullest, always seeking out new experiences and connections with new people. She tends to be very open with her words and actions, sometimes to the point of bluntness, but always makes sure to smooth over any hurt feelings afterward.

While she maintains her upbeat demeanor around others, those that get to know her well know that she has a quieter, more pensive side when alone. She writes music and poetry with a definite melancholy feeling, but refuses to share any of it.[/indent]

[indent]Akane lived a pretty normal life in a small beach town for most of her childhood. Her father, a corporate executive, lived in a nearby city for work and only visited home when his busy schedule permitted, leaving her mother to raise Akane and her older sister Jun on her own for the most part. They were financially quite comfortable, but her father's traditional attitude carried over to home, and both sisters felt stifled by the expectations laid on them.

Akane and Jun were as close as sisters could be all the way through high school, especially once Jun got her driver's license and the freedom to travel where they pleased. They had the run of the town, and they made the most of every day. Jun even decided to find work in town for the year after she graduated so the two could attend university in the same year, something that they both looked forward to immensely.

That ended on the night of Akane's graduation, when a drunk driver smashed into the driver's side of Jun's car as she took Akane to the ceremony. She was killed instantly, and Akane was hospitalized for weeks.

Once she was released from the hospital, she realized that the town where she had spent her life would forever be haunted by the memory of her sister, and packed her bags to escape somewhere else, anywhere that would let her find some kind of peace.

A few weeks ago, she arrived on Erusea and got herself a small apartment, ready to begin a new life in a new home.[/indent]
