GLORY IN THE SKY- YOUR HEART WILL KNOW WHY.
Clouds the color of bone marrow gently surround the bases of gargantuan floating castles. Sprawling, bright green pastures are speckled in lines of colorful flags in a variety of shapes and sizes. Deep below, civilizations encrust their kingdoms of sand with thousands of vivid shards of coral and gemstones. Dungeons lie between the spaces of sky, land and sea, hidden to all but those worthy enough to know their whereabouts. Dragons have truly conquered all. Amidst this abundance of resources the dragons of Contierien have reached a peak in culture and art. It is in this time and in this place that thousands of every scale color and wingspan gather to participate in the grand Kindling Ceremony, a celebration of their kind and a collaborative effort to rile the flames of their world´s heart. However, things are not as they appear to be, and war is soon to erupt against the rival nation of Volant.

Dragons
The most numerous and renown species on the world of Skarn. They can appear in every color of the sky and land. Their powers and abilities are as unique as their appearances, with many deviations from the standard quadrupedal body being present. Their magic can be inherited, learned through study, based on power sources or even result from unprecedented miracles or accidents. Some are additionally devoid of certain senses or limbs as a result of their enhanced ability to adapt to Skarn´s many harsh environments. Dragon society is organized as branches of clans that engage in commerce and socialization with each other, for better or worse. The feuds and bonds formed from centuries of these meetings aren´t so easily written down and being an outsider can often bring problems. Dragons consider adaptation to be the most desired trait to have, making mediation between clans a well rewarded and respected skill among their kind.
Humans
There exist a race of microscopic and feeble creatures in the land of Contierien. They go by many names, but are formally recognized as humans. Their physical capabilities are absolutely nonexistent, even among their strongest of kin. They are considered little more than entertainment to many clans. Had it not been for their skills in artwork and the creation of baubles and trinkets, they would have likely been exterminated without remorse. Scorn against the human race is rampant, but some clans take in and protect them to have a steady source of income from trading their artisan goods. Humans possess a magic unique to them, inconsistent, dangerous and unexplainable. Some see it as the magic of change, others a harbinger of misfortune. It is a subject of fierce debate among the more scholarly clans, and the humans of Contierien live in secluded villages for the dragon´s peace of mind.

Ancient history has been destroyed and twisted hundreds of times within the past thousands of years, with the sole thing that can be agreed upon by historians being that humans and dragons have held a long and tumultuous relationship throughout the ages. It would be more accurate to call the citizens of Volant a conglomerate of races rather than a branch of clans. They inhabit a continent not too far from Contierien though are known to expand voraciously among the nearby islands. They are in perpetual war with the dragons, but have oddly ceased their warmongering as of late.
Hunters
Long ago, humans were nearly rendered extinct and many pledged complete loyalty to their rivals. Hunters are the descendants of those who chose to fight until the bitter end. Their skin is similar to those of humans, albeit grayer and smoother. They are devoted to honing the offensive capabilities of human magic and all of its irrationality and danger with no regard to their well-being. The rancor inside of every hunter powers their will to do anything it takes to claim victory in battle. One hunter isn´t a threat to a dragon, but hunters fight in the hundreds.
Draegons
The descendants of dragons that were captured, enslaved and bred like livestock during and after the war. They are subservient, mindless and aggressive, rampaging ceaselessly until their final breath, making them a fearsome opponent in battle. The strongest of their kind are able to form a connection to the world´s heart like dragons do, although their linking drains the life and energy of Skarn rather than the opposite.
Remnants
Very little is known about remnants. They trudge through battlefields with ease, sporting spectral looking armor and a humanoid shape. They are capable of slaughtering dragons with ease. The language they speak is unknown and resembles no other found on Skarn.

Basic rules, to be expanded. Roleplaying as a human is prohibited, due to how incredibly restrictive it would be. Dragons are dragons. Not shapeshifting busty anime girls, not anthropomorphic fursonas, not humans with a tail and red skin. Dragons with bodies partially composed of metals, stones and the like exist but avoid anything in the realm of science fiction. Aquatic dragons that are unable to survive on land and air exist but will be prohibited to roleplay, once again because it would be too restrictive.
