Name: Kyros, The Phoenix Dawn Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Human Rank: 5 of Swords Appearance: Standing almost eight feet, he's commonly mistaken for a half giant. The odd fire aspects of his hair, eyes, and skin are obviously magical in nature (and entirely cosmetic) but the exact source is hard to deduce. He claims its a side effect of mastering the Rising Phoenix Style as the special techniques commonly result in phantom effects of gold light and fire that accentuate his forms, movements, and flare in response to his passions. Personality: "Never fear! The Dawn always Rises! And Darkness always Falls!" Bombastic, larger than life, and fully believing he is doing the right thing. Kyros is stubborn, self-sure, and given to the idea of the legendary hero style and disposition. He is often times to loudest in the room, and fully taken to being in to spotlight and the attention he gets. In the field, he is direct, hard hitting, and prone to being the front line powerhouse. He will most assuredly go out of his way to protect others and bring swift justice to the villainous. He is a team player, but often views others as liabilities. They are not as strong, or as tough, but he doesn't openly complain, saving them brings him glory and reaffirms his already massive ego. He isn't a hero. He is THE HERO! The one that everyone should strive to be. His obnoxious, holier than though, goody goody boy scout antics no doubt gets on others nerves, but Kyros always means well. Outside of the front lines, Kyros is a gentle giant and a lovable idiot. He will attempt to always cheer up others and encourage them to always improve. He loves nothing more than a day well spent and then relaxing with his companions, swapping stories and talking about the future. On the flip side, He is naive, ignorant, and gullible, thus he can be manipulated easily. His wild passions can lead him to a burning furious anger, and for someone as strong as he is, that can lead to a lot of collateral damage. Still, quick to anger, quick to forgive. His personality is that of a roaring campfire, all or nothing. He needs others to reign in his wrath. When he finds friends or those willing to help him, he treats them like family, and when he has that, there is literally no limits to how far he would go for them. Brief Backstory: His exact story is uncertain. Some claim he looks like a kid who they once saw in a pit fight a decade back that disappeared, presumed dead. Others claim he has the jaw structure of some menacing giant warlord and he is the bastard of such a devilish creature. Some see him as not quite human, maybe an ifrit or fire elemental blooded or the results of dangerous magical experimentation. Kyros himself says that his past doesn't matter. The only thing that matters was that one day, alone in the dark, cold, broken, he saw the morning sun peak through a window and whisper to him. "Be the light against the dark." That was when he knew his purpose, his reason for living, and the Phoenix Dawn was born. All the suffering and hate and fear from before that moment was gone. He had to break free, he had to step out into the world. He triumphed in his freedom as the dawn stretched out on the land. Since then, he followed the sun's whisper, bringing him to places where a hero was most needed. He traveled far to the lands of the East, learning great secrets from the masters that study their art in the forgotten corners of the world. He carries their teachings and their might on his shoulders as he travels the land. A hero for hire. A mercenary for justice! He joins the guild mainly because he believes it the best way to not only keep a roof over his head, but the be informed of where his face and fists are most needed. Naturally he views the guild as family and beloved comrades at arms. Equipment: Kyros has to eat alot, so he barely has more money than maybe lasting from week to week. Other than that, his backpack contains some snacks, a bedroll, his picture books, some of his trophies from battle, his canteen, and occasionally a flask of something particularly unhealthy for him. He lives a rather spartan lifestyle. Skills: Kyros' expertise and specialty are completely dedicated to martial arts, Kyros sought out the great masters and learned an esoteric martial art he calls the Rising Phoenix Style. The style is a type of magic, as the forms and spiritual discipline simulates magical effects, particularly those that enhance the body or allow Kyros to perform feats that are impossible outside of enchantment magic. His fists shine as if plated in gold, knocking down walls with a single strike. His body becomes like that of armor, allowing him to give a thunderous elbow drop onto a giant shark from the top of a crows nest. The style allows for battle ending cataclysmic strikes meant to awe and inspire, thunderous kicks that stun wyverns, and fissure making stomps that knock down the rabble of a battle field so that the Dawn sooner finds the worthier foe. This martial arts style can also employ unconventional weapons, utilizing things like bar stools, musical instruments, road signs, wagons, other people, etc to great effect. He has also developed some tactical skills when it comes to combat, knowing the eb and flo of a battle and how to use the environment and his opponents strengths and composure to his advantage. The environment also becomes his weapon as his brawling style has no semblance of a disciplined honorable warrior. Kyros had also developed a pretty good arm and is capable of chucking items with devastating precision and power. In his travels, Kyros has picked up a fair bit of useful skills. He can command a room with his presence, inspiring others to greatness or trying to convince them what the righteous path might be, condemning those who take advantage of others. He also developed a keen eye for cause and effect and how it pertains to society. Sometimes slugging some thugs won't fix the problem, sometimes you have to go after the bosses who hide behind their money and walls of stone. Other than that, he's pretty unskilled when it comes to magic or anything complicated. He knows a few things, but he just isn't very intelligent. He views those who build, craft, understand, and teach with the upmost respect, mainly because his skill set is so limited.
