Dolores Mortimer, you must have heard of her?

What are your skills?

Mortimer mages are rather infamous for their use of enchanted blue fire, and I happen to be one of them! We've been scorching monsters into oblivion for centuries, and we've made quite a name for ourselves in our region of origin. Although my flames can get a little... out of control sometimes, I like to think I'm well versed in the basics, being the age I am now. I happen to be quite the speedy cleaner as well, if there's any use in saying that. Oh, I also happen to be quite well read about this world of ours, or what we know about it, at least. Mother always kept a great deal of books at home…

What is in your inventory?

Well, I can never leave home without my satchel and my magic staff! Helps me control the channelling of my magic a little easier with it. Aside for the essentials I keep in this large bag of mine, I also keep this simple spellbook at hand. It contains quite basic, domestic spells, though I have my flames to protect me if bigger threats are to arise. And a small diary too, because there can be some important things I musn't forget about along my travels! Oh, but what is a young lady without her cosmetics and fragrances? I always look awfully pale without my lip colour and I can never forget to spray a little lavender perfume before I head out in my white fox coat!

What are you like? What do people think of you?

Despite my preferences for only the darkest of garments, I'd say I'm as vibrant and colourful a person as you can get! Life can get so dull and repetitive most of the time, so it's only natural that I feed my curiosities as often as I can. Reading, practising spells, talking to other people, anything that will keep this energetic mind of mine busy! I'm a woman driven merely by my passions and interests, to explore and experience the exhilarating things this world has to offer; anything that can't fulfil those aren't relevant to me, of course. Our time in this world only lasts so long, so I would hate to have it wasted by uninteresting matters. What people think of me? Well, let's just say that I've heard a… wide variety of responses in my nineteen years. Words like obnoxious, shameless, deranged, hot-tempered, oh, but that's just scratching the surface! If only you could hear the sort of things people used to call me! I mean, I don't exactly have the cleanest reputation, but then again, who doesn't? And to call me insane for it? Ha! As a Mortimer mage, I assure you that I would never use my gifts to wreck havoc against anything but evil entities. Still, the imaginations us humans have is unbelievable! On the other hand, there are still others who share vastly different opinions to those misconceptions. I've often received some rather flattering compliments about my 'spellbinding allure', how ironic! I like to think that I'm the witty vivacious type, you know, the sort of woman who can light up a cold room with a bit of warmth. Being around people gives me comfort, even if it's just one person sitting by me I feel content. There's nothing I loathe more than being alone for too long… oh, I just hate being alone, I can't be alone, I absolutely despise the silence. As much as I would adore to have someone attached to my side until the day I die, some people just aren't always what they seem. I can see it in their eyes sometimes, you know, through the gateway to their soul. At this point, the deceptive nature of man ceases to surprise me. Oh my, I seem to have rambled on for far too long, haven't I! There are more questions to answer, correct?

What are your life experiences? How did you grow up?

Ninteen years ago, I was born in the bustling village of Adria, a unique sort of trading hub that lies in the northernmost regions where snow is heavy and frequent. My mother was the de facto protector of our homeland, a fearsome mage who was said to have wielded her Mortimer flames more efficiently than any other predecessor of ours. My twin sister, Lilith - [sub]just even uttering the brat's name irritates me[/sub] - were to be her successors when she passed, and she trained us with a sort of severity that made it look like every day was her last. We both possessed great latent magic potential, our mother gave us that. However, for years we were confined to honing our spells in the nearby taigas and studying in recluse inside mother's library, rather than interacting with the villagers who were only a few minutes walk away from our large tower home. I'll admit, my sister was always - [sub]dare I say it[/sub] - the more skilful one. And mother saw that as soon as our rate of progress began to differ at around eight years old. 'Why waste your time on someone that shows you no potential for the future?' Mother must have been thinking something along the lines of that. So all the attention was brought upon my dear sister, and eventually, my studies were of no concern to mother. So how was I supposed to satisfy my newfound boredom having already read the entirety of my mother's library and having no friends beyond the spiders on the corners of my bedroom walls? As entertaining as it is conversing with the little critters, it does get a little stale after a while. Ah, the rebellious streak of my adolescence… how I treasure it. Sneaking out of the tower for the first time, running off into the forests way past the setting of the sun, causing a bit of mischief in the village square, getting up early to set fire to my sister's bedroom, ah, what an exhilarating youth I had! But of course, I always got caught and punished, always after my sister had informed mother of my misconducts, the little snitch. But that never stopped me, no, I got more daring with each outing, of course! The village even gave me the nickname 'Mad Mallory' they were that impressed, ha! My mother, of course, berated me once the rumours spread to her. I guess some people just can't handle such an intrepid young soul. But one particular incident a few years back - a romance gone wrong, you could call it - spun things even out of my control. Emotions are certainly… complicated things; being neglected for so long does things to you, I just couldn't stand being alone anymore and I wanted someone to care for me but they couldn't offer that. I had apparently gotten too 'attached' and gone a bit 'mad' and things got a little 'heated' and soon mother had villagers banging on her door saying the foulest of things about me! I awaited my regular scolding and assigned punishment when mother was finished, but as soon as she came back to me, she was insistent on trying a… different punishment than usual. Needless to say, it wasn't the most thrilling two months eating and sleeping in the underground basement, awfully stuffy and and chilly in there but it didn't take long to get used to. What I couldn't get used to was every time my sister brought my food down to my 'new bedroom'; the girl always had the nerve to look at me with a triumphant smirk on her face as she carelessly tossed my meals at me! I think that child is the spawn of the Demon King himself, that insufferable brat! Even after things had returned to normal I wasn't having any fun living under the same roof as those two. I was around seventeen at the time; I was old enough to leave, so I did. Not before setting my sister's belongings on fire for the last time, of course, how I rejoiced in seeing that repulsive scowl of hers. I've vowed to surpass her and my mother my entire life, and nothing has changed since then. Oh dear, I think I've said a bit too much... Silly me! I haven't bored you to sleep, have I?
