The swordsman had attempted to dash behind the creature as its leftmost arm was covered in a thin layer of ice. Perhaps Pagonia thought he could be quicker than the creature could anticipate, but the creature had been corrupted by malum energies and the burst of supposed necrotic energy had only caused its skin to crack and mutate faster. It also made its reflexes keener, especially in its legs. Normally a krovar would be less keen and quick to intercept, but this was hardly a normal situation. Before Pagonia could realize it the metal-like spikes embeded in the creatures back slid across his sword as the monster turned on its feet. His eyes and the monsters own met and the krovar's clawed fist met his chest sending him flying backward into a large, lumbering oak tree. As it took one step closer it let a gluttonous, ghoul-like snarl.
