A scoundrel and a rogue.  Rico embodies the concept of a life completely free.  He cares not for authority, or rules, or the law.  He lives by his own rules and demands and the universe seems to cater to him.  He can bet it all and lose, but still end up leaving the dock with a ship rich in supplies, ready for the next card game and a chance to win it all back.  It is said he was born lucky, and the arrogance and pride to that statement makes the young upstart a thorn in the side of the jealous and greedy.  He has lived this life for a lone while, and he knows how to hold his own in a fight or to make a retreat when he welshes on a debt.  In essence, he will put alot on the line with a smile on his face because he seems to know its always going to work out for him.  He's got the skills and the guts to make it.
