Wheelchair puns aside, he came across as a sociable boy despite his physical limitations. He refused to stay shut up indoors all the time: from going to church and church-sponsored activities, to cheering classmates on at sports events, to volunteering his time at the children’s hospital, to checking out a book and laying himself out on the library lawn to read it, Josh stayed out in the community. When he was at home, though, Josh reserved what hours he could for online gaming. It was a way for him to keep in touch with his sister, to still spend time together despite the distance. That hobby brought him into friend group full of characters and good laughs—and, to be fair, good arguments, too.
