Penelope took a step back as another enemy knight crumbled to the ground after facing her and Gavin. She bore a small wound on her shoulder from where his blade had caught her but it wasn't enough to slow the female knight down. She took in a deep breath and was about to follow Gavin as he moved to block another oncoming attacker. However, she faltered as something else caught her attention. In the distance, she watched with horror as two familiar figures clashed in battle. It was Crow and Layth. Penelope paled at the sight. It was difficult to guess what had caused for them to end up in a fight. Layth was reckless in battle and Crow was trying to defend the villagers. She guessed that somewhere along the way, Crow had stopped her brother from injuring an innocent bystander. She wanted to believe that Crow would show her broher mercy, merely because it was her brother. However, the two seemed to face off with similar viciousness that left her torn on what to do. Regardless, she had to something. She didn't want to lose either one of them. The knight was just about to take off towards the two when someone grabbed her hand to stop her. She whirled her head around to see Gavin had returned to her side and was looking worriedly at her. "Penelope... what are you going to do?" He asked, clearly noticing Layth and Crow as well as her own horror at the situation. "I... I don't know." Penelope admitted with panic in her voice. She couldn't attack either of them. Layth might have recognized Crow and would deem her a traitor if she stopped him from attacking and she simply couldn't bring herself to attack Crow. "I just have to stop them." "Maybe you shouldn't get involved." Gavin advised pleadingly. Penelope sighed and shook her head before yanking her arm out of his grip. "Sorry. But I have to." She turned and raced towards the two, ducking out of the way of other battles as she tried to come up with a plan that would separate the two without her having to turn on anyone. Her mind and heart raced as she drew closer. I just have to get between them somehow... she thought, trying to piece together a plan.
