Dozens of families lining the rows of cots and chairs, patiently awaiting their turn to be seen. A soft and exasperated sigh could be heard coming from Salem as he reached up and dragged his forearm across his forehead, clearing any sweat that may have pooled up there. He continued to grind away at some herbs, using a mortar and pestle, creating medicinal pastes and ointments for those in his care. "Now, this might sting a bit at first, but it will begin to soothe soon enough." Salem told the young child as he approached him with the medicine. He carefully placed it over childs burns, then wrapping them gently. "Here is some medicine that should last you for a week, make sure to use fresh bandages when reapplying the medication." Salem handed the container to the mother along with written instructions for how to care for the burn, giving her a warm smile before ushering them out for the next patients. This persisted for the better part day, taking in patients, caring for them, then seeing the next. Before Salem knew it it was already 10 am. Damn it, I'm going to get an ear full for missing the first day. It's all ceremonial anyways, I'm sure they wont miss a mage for one day. -Later At Home- "Do you have any idea what day it is?" Salem Sr. questioned his son sternly, as if he was a disgrace, just as Salem entered the house. Salem removed his dirty apron, undid his hair, and began to rub his hand around his neck. His anxiety began to well up in him, nervousness at the brim of spilling, but that would only make matters worse in front of his father. "I know, it was the opening ceremony to the Noila Academy...but this was important. Those people out there in the slums, they need this help, more than that academy needs me for some opening ceremony." His voice was weary from the long days work, yet he attempted to maintain a level of calmness. A long exasperated sigh escaped his mouth as his hand fell back to his side. "Look, I will head over there first thing tomorrow. Don't worry, they most likely didn't notice my absence tonight." His fathers eyes brimmed with rage as he clenched his jaw. He swiftly charged towards Salem, footsteps pounding into the wood floor, until he was mere inches away from his son. "I told you. Those people down there, they only use you, your kindness. You should be charging them for all these treatments. Instead you're out there gallivanting in the slums with your free clinic's, letting them abuse you and your talents, instead of going to the prestigious academy that will help you have a chance at a better future. You-" His father was quickly cut off by a female voice gleefully yelling down the stairs. His mother Alice was rushing down towards the two "'re home! Thats what you were going to say, right darling? Oh how glad i am to see you sweetie! I was afraid I had missed my chance to say goodbye before you set off to your new life at school. She wrapped her arms around Salem and held him tight. "Just look at you, so filthy. Go upstairs and get cleaned up. Rest before your big day ahead of you tonight."

[@Achronum]
Once Salem had arrived at the academy he was met with an impressive gate and two staff members who attempted to help him unload his luggage. "Just a second please." he requested as he opened up the trunk and pulled out several collapse-able dollies. "The trunks contain many fragile items and equipment, please exercise the highest form of caution when handling them. The back and trunk of the car were filled with traveling trunks, clasped shut and locked to insure nothing could fall out. Salem stepped towards one attendant while the other began to handle the luggage. "Here is an envelope containing your dormitory, partner's name, and a photograph of them as well. Now this is your schedule, mages and vampires have their own classes as you may of guessed. Don't worry, you will meet yours soon." Salem took the items and slid them into his leather satchel. His satchel contained a wooden frame inside to help the bag keep shape. Along with the frame were metal rods that contained a dozen miniature gyrosphere's holding vials of Salem's blood, ensuring they wouldn't be jostled as he walked. "Thank you, could you escort me towards my orientation? I'm afraid i will arrive late, yet again." a nervous chuckle escaped him as he began to shove his hands into his pockets. Salem could hardly keep his gaze off the ground while speaking to the attendant. The attendant gave Salem a firm nod before gesturing for him to follow alongside him. As they strolled past the fountains where just the other night mages and vampires had mingled together, he motioned his right hand towards a path lined with flora. Salem closed his eyes, taking in the scent of the nearby flowers. Lavender drifted through the breeze, no doubt in place to help relax the students that were being thrust into this new world. "Dormitories are over there, you will be living alongside your vampire partner. We preach peace and equality here at Noila Academy, and thus you both will receive the same accommodations. We do hope that you two will get along and build bonds together. Here is Rose Hall where your orientation is currently taking place." Salem pulled out a golden pocket watch, clicking it open and noticing the time was 9:30 pm. "Thank you for your help, I'm sure my partner and i will get along just fine. If you'll excuse me." Salem gave the man a half bow and quietly opened the door, just enough to slide in. He slowly closed it, keeping the handle turned the entire way so as to avoid the sound of the locks clicking into place. He found his way towards the back of the crowd noticing a few characters that stood out more than others. A woman with silvery hair that shone like the moonlight, and a man with golden hair like the sun. He seemed famliar some how, as if he had seen him in his lessons or- Aaron Starag?! What was he doing here? Did the Noila vampires attend the school as a formality? That must be why he is here. Salem sat down with his thoughts as his eyes wandered around the room. So many mages in one place, How many aspects are in this room alone? Once the speeches were over and the mages were free to roam, Salem pulled out the envelope containing his vampires name. He stared blankly at it, tapping it against the palm of his hand anxiously before finally opening it. "Lucan Bordeleaux. Pretty...very pretty. I sure hope we can get along" Salem tilted his head back and closed his eyes, shaking his leg as he sat there fidgeting with the envelope. He finally mustered enough courage to stand up, rising fast then opening his eyes. His legs walked with determination as he searched for someone with the name tag of "Plant" at the stage. When finally there his voice was low, clearing his throat with his hand rung around his neck once more. "Excuse me, I was hoping you could help me control some of my power? I seem to be having an issue with...pheromones?"
