On that subject, as much as I love the new Insomniac Spider-Man.....
They spend wayyyy too much time on Mister Negative, to the point where Slott's fingerprints aren't just obvious, but full-on obnoxious. The main plot is ostensibly an origin story for Doctor Octopus, Spidey's second all-time greatest villain, and the gathering of the Sinister Six, collectively one of the greatest threats Pete ever faces.....but we spend about a third of the goddamn story focusing on this one guy who just ends up being Doc Ock's lackey. Meanwhile, actual classic villains Electro, Shocker, Rhino, Vulture, and Scorpion get so little screen-time and story contributions that they might as well have not even shown up. Shit, even Kingpin gets less of a narrative handjob than Martin Li. I get that Negative is a newer villain and thus needs some more exposure for players who aren't familiar with him, but if I'm gonna go up against the Six, I'd like it if everyone felt like a genuine threat, and not just Two Guys The Developers Actually Care About And Some Dudes Who Are Just There To Shore Up The Numbers.
