If not for those perked-up ears of his, you wouldn't be able to tell he still had his guard up in case of an ambush. Fighting those goblins cooled the boy's head somewhat, so he had some time to reflect on his weird encounter. (They're convicts, but... she didn't try to hurt me. Even though she had the perfect shot. ...I wonder if they're alright?) As if those thoughts jinxed it, Cyll's ears caught the faint noise of a war-horn in the distance, back from where he'd abandoned the duo. (Oh shit. The green bastards have a leader!) Cyll braced himself to take off in a sprint again despite his condition, only to stop himself and instinctively jump to the side upon hearing the hissing of a serpentile creature. Cyll narrowed his eyes and balled up his fist as he glared at the bush he'd heard it from, its leaves rustling as a scaled beast rummaged around next to it. He had his guard up while watching the form shift and crawl, making eye-contact with the figure once it had stopped. A small, white eye stared sideways at Cyll, the boy freezing in fear upon seeing the figure's massive scaly teeth and dual horns. (A-Apep!) Thinking he was going to have to fight again, Cyll started to freeze the ether around his left hand. The creature, however, didn't seem too interested in the boy. It slithered away, deeper into the forest, leaving the boy to breathe a sigh of relief. That relief lasted a whole three seconds once he realised Apep started to race towards Arno and Corday. "Oh like hell you do!" Cyll snapped as he braced himself again, running after the creature once he had realised just how much danger the other fellows were in. Cyll knew the forest, confident he could keep up with Apep. He just had to figure out a plan by the time he got there. Cyll wasn't very good at planning ahead.
