History: As a public figure many aspects of his history are known. He joined the Federation military at 18 and immediately went into the piots program. he was a gifted pilot and quickly rose through the ranks until he was selected to lead the Federation military. Commanding the Irish-Class battle cruiser [url=http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Irish-class] Excalibur [/url] as well as being the primary Pilot for the XXXG-00W0 Wing Zero Gundam. He leads the Federation military from the Earthsphere itself rather than on the planet.

Constructed about 20 years before the first contact with Fukushu Zeon, The Wing Zero was built as a spiritual successor to both the original RX-78-2 and Unicorn Gundams respectively featuring a new system known as the ZERO System. During the design process, many of the design elements changed to fit the needs of both the ZERO System and the pilot, Aster Roman. These needs changed the intention from that of a spiritual successor to just another mobile weapon. During the initial testing of the ZERO System, the test pilots all suffered vivid hallucinations and this caused them to go through temporary bouts of insanity. After a short while, the only pilot left was Aster himself and after one near accident that caused the suit to punch a hole through the development center wall before Aster could reign it in, there have been no problems with the system and all seems nominal. The system itself functions by interfacing the pilot's brain directly into the suit's computer this allows the pilot to have an increased level of control over the suit as well as the suit predicting many if not all of the possible courses of action to lead to a victory.
