Eilidh came downstairs looking haggard and tired, took some toast from the breakfast table, and nibbled a corner of it as she approached today's job board. She'd spent a long time thinking about last night, and decided that...she needed to take her mind off Bast for a while. Ever since she joined this guild, it's been political tension after fighting with inner-conflict after developing feelings for a human. And she admitted to herself last night that she does have feelings for Bast. But before she could ask him if they could be Mates, she wanted to dispel any possible doubt, that he didn't want that. She was mostly sure, but he was a flirt, and he was very hard to read. There could be no mistakes with something like this. The Centauress jumped when Bast approached her and started making small talk, all without the tired warrior noticing. "I couldn't sleep," she replied. "I'm thinking that I want to take something straightforward, where I don't have to think about what's right or wrong, and can just do the job, have an adventure, possibly fight somebody." As she read the quests, she listened to Bast tell her about Varjo. "You're right. As much as I personally believe in the rebellion, Varja already knows I'm with the guild. They've seen me help them. There are plenty of new faces around. Let one of them help the rebellion. If I keep showing up to foil Varja, they'll take it personally. They might even come here. Thank you, for caring about me. As strong as I am, I'm one person, and there will always be a limit to what one person can do alone, especially against somebody like that gladiator, who could exploit my unmanouverability. I'd likely still have beaten him, but if I ever faced two or more people like that at once, without help, I'd die. You have my back. And I have yours. That's why I'm taking this quest with you." [@13org][@PaulHaynek]
