Standing over most at 6'5", Hadar's tall frame is set with a very sinewy, athletic build, well suited to the rigors of combat. His shoulders are broad, but his posture casual, with the appearance of one used to regular and hard travel. His red hair is long and unkempt, kept just short enough to stay out of his eyes with a little effort. His facial features are strong and defined, however his right eye is almost always kept covered. Beneath the covering cloth is a perfectly spherical, arguably demonic eye, with a vertical pupil, and scars spiraling around the socket. His face is regularly pulled into a scowl, and occasionally makes children cry. Day To Day Attire: One part travel gear, one part suitable combat armor. Tough and sturdy leathers supplemented by a thick coat of padded armor provides protection against lighter cutting weapons, blunt impacts and the general wear and tear of travel with minimal maintenance, while also allowing Hadar to stay mobile and on his feet. A nomad's shawl and turban sits across his shoulders, allowing him as much or little discretion as he pleases. Calm and reserved, Hadar possess a confident, if somewhat aloof demeanor, backed by a powerful intuition and a quick wit. Hadar is strong willed and determined- occasionally to the point of bull headedness, but rational and down to earth. While capable of cooperating, Hadar is still used to the mindset of fighting alone, and exhibits poor leadership skills- in no small part due to the fact that he cannot speak. In groups, Hadar will generally abdicate leadership to someone else, and contents himself with following. Habits:

Combat Rituals - After (and if possible before) a fight, Hadar will take a second to himself for a ritual that appears to be the combination of a short prayer and weapon maintenance
Sleeps sitting, standing, or kneeling, but never laying down
Hobbies:

Whittling
Fishing
Fears:

The Dread God - Hadar despises and fears the Dread God
Eternal Rage - Hadar fears that one day he will enter his primal state, and never return from it
Dread God's Curse - The scars around his eyes grow larger and deeper as time slowly ticks by, Hadar fears that one day he will be consumed by his 'gift'.
Likes:

Solitude
Dry Weather
Tobacco
Full Canteens
Competence
Challenge
Dislikes:

The Dread God
Excessive Noises
Wet Weather
Liars
Incompetence
Boats

Skills

Weapons Master - From a young age, Hadar has been trained to use a variety of weapons. While most at home with a two handed sword, Hadar is capable of using a variety of blades, polearms, clubs, and even improvised weapons.
Dread God's Curse - Also called a 'Gift' by some, Hadar's right eye grants him incredibly acute vision, allowing him to notice small details as well as the ability to see in darkness- both magical and nonmagical. The Eye is also incredibly sensitive to light, to the point that Hadar must cover it in order to see in the daytime without blinding himself.
Athletic - Trained from a young age to be a Champion of his birth city, Hadar is a near olympian athlete. Strong, fast, and with a deep pool of stamina, and is capable of a variety of physical feats.
Hardy - Resilient and strong of body and mind, is capable of taking a beating and keep on fighting.
Herbology & First Aid - While not an incredibly talented apothecary or herbalist, Hadar has a solid idea of how do find and gather common herbs with medical uses for basic purposes. Combined with basic knowledge of using alcohol and clean bandages allows Hadar to perform basic first aid.
Horseback Riding Hadar is a more than capable rider, and can even conduct combat from horseback given the right weapons.

Magic

Beserker Rage: Primal Winds - Hadar traces his latent magical heritage back to a fallen family of mages who had long ago cut a deal with a powerful Wind Demon. While his latent powers are considerably more muted when compared to that of his forefathers, Hadar is still able to tap into this ancient blood. When tapping into this power, strong gusts of wind whip around Hadar, pushing at his back to move him faster, and guiding his strikes.

Possessions
Possessions Generally On Person:

Coin Purse - Its a purse that holds coins. Its relatively empty- has about 20 coins.
Belt Satchel - A set of leather satchels at his sides carry a variety of immediately useful supplies: A whittling knife, Twine, waterskin, travel rations, a small pouch of tobacco, herbal ointments, a small bottle of spirits, rolls of clean cloth, and a spool of thread and a needle.
Weapons:

A dwarven forged greatsword of high quality taken from the body of an Astoran Knight, belonging to the Knightly Order of the Radiant Sun. Well balanced and nimble, boasting both strength and speed, it is a fine piece of craftsmanship, but not incredibly unique. While once well decorated and ornate, continuous use has shorn off any of its prettier and flashier accouterments.

Long Dagger- A simple, long bladed dagger for both close in fighting, and other utilitarian purposes.
Dagger - A simple, plain dagger for both close in fighting, and other utilitarian purposes.
Tomahawk Axe - A simple multipurpose axe for both close in fighting, and other utilitarian purposes.
Armor:

Nomad's Armor - Tough and sturdy leathers supplemented by a thick coat of padded armor provides protection against lighter cutting weapons, blunt impacts and the general wear and tear of travel with minimal maintenance while also allowing Hadar to stay mobile and on his feet. Steel vambraces, steel backed gloves, and steel greaves provide additional protection to Hadar's extremities without weighing him down too much. A nomad's cloak and shawl sits over his shoulders covering the ensemble. It provides adequate protection against human foes- which is all its really for. Hadar has seen first hand that all the protection in the world does little against the giant claws and tails of monstrous creatures, and as such favors mobility.
Pack Contents:

Travel Horse - A bulky, if somewhat slow moving and dimwitted horse, this serves as a combination beast of burden, riding animal, and travel companion for Hadar.

The saddlebags contain: A pair of leather waterskins, a whetstone, a tinderbox, lines and tackle for fishing, a small iron bowl for cooking, a small hatchet for wood gathering, a small knife and whetstone, a length of rope (approx. 50 feet), a pouch of herbs, an oil lantern with a bottle of spare oil, a few days worth of provisions for Hadar as well as his horse. Behind the saddle is a blanket and spare clothes are wrapped in a roll of canvas.

Magical Items:

Firebrand's Shawl The red shawl around Hadar's shoulders is woven with Siren Glass, and imbued with a protective enchantment rendering most fire and fire magic ineffectual.
Potions:

Potion of Healing x2 - A pair of potions that heal wounds.
Potion of Endurance x2 - A sickly green color and foul taste makes it rather unappetizing, but drinking half a dose allows one to go a day without food, making it popular amongst travelers.

History
Hadar is the firstborn son of a pair of destitute, impoverished, and unlanded nobles in the city of Caim. Hadar grew up essentially a peasant, their name having no sway in any circles- spurring condescension and scorn amongst noble and peasant families alike. Hadar's childhood would not last very long however. He was selected and taken by the City's leading political party- The Redeemers to join the ranks of their many 'Champions', warriors groomed and bred to fight to the death to advance their respective city's political power. Essentially trained from birth to be warriors, Hadar was taught only the basics of reading and writing- which was used mostly to instruct children on military theory and combat doctrines. Outside of military lessons, Hadar's life consisted of fighting and training. A Champions' only purpose was to fight, and Hadar learned almost every weapon known to man: Sword, spear, axe, flail, staff, even his bare hands. The only pause in Hadar's training was around the age of 12, when he and the rest of the Redeemer's champion candidates embarked into the desert on their pilgrimage to be cleansed of the Dread God's influence. During the children's stay at the monastery Hadar, they were beaten and disciplined by the monks- any attempts to fight back, of which there were many, were quickly beaten into submission. Ritual scarring and beatings were common in the Monastaries during these pilgrimage, and one particularly zealous monk took to branding Hadar's right eye, causing him to go blind in that eye. On one of the last nights of their stay, Hadar was visited by a terrible dream. Screaming himself awake, Hadar found that his vision had returned, and where his scarred right eye once was, a new, demonic eye had been placed. The monks claimed that Hadar had been released from the hold of the Dread God, who in his fury left Hadar with one last scar. Amongst the other children taken into the ranks of Caim's Champions, Hadar was among the most tenacious, overpowering those who were faster than him, and outsmarting those who were stronger than him. However, despite his success, Hadar was never particularly popular among the noble families that controlled them. He was argumentative and rebellious, his deformity was unnerving, and he had irreparably injured more than one favored candidate. Around the age of 16, a particularly outraged noble decided to cut out his tongue as punishment for his insolence. While the noble was chided for his outburst later on, it did little to change the fact that Hadar had been rendered mute, and would no longer be a suitable figurehead for the City of Caim. Hadar's training continued undeterred however, the Redeemers figured that Hadar would at the least by a viable candidate for one the upcoming tournament in the Proving Grounds- a year when they knew they had no hope of winning. Eventually learning of this through rumors and eavesdropping on one or two particularly gossipy nobles, Hadar concluded that he would escape Babel, or die trying- he was a dead man already. Hadar fought his way out of Caim, fighting past guards and his fellow Champions alike, throwing himself into the desert sands in his own self-exile. Suffering from his wounds, and With little more than the clothes on his back, Hadar didn’t last very long in the desert and after an untold amount of time fending for himself, he finally collapsed. Hadar awoke to find himself in the care of a merchant caravan, who had found him collapsed and half buried on a sand dune. They nursed him back to health, and he repaid them by traveling with them for a while, his weapons and combat training making him an excellent guard- despite his young age. During his travels with the Siosata Merchant's Caravan, Hadar would slowly learn the ways of the world outside of Babel. After several years of travelling with the merchant caravan, Hadar would eventually strike out on his own, finding work as a sellsword in Astoria, and eventually earning the name "The Windwalker" for the unnatural gusts of wind that seemed to follow him during conflict. While Hadar was an excellent fighter, he was no strategist or politician, and after a four year career as a sellsword, Hadar would eventually find himself on the wrong side of a conflict between petty nobles and forced to surrender. The sellswords that didn't throw down their arms and flee in time found themselves forced into a decision: Execution or Conscription into the ranks of Vicellen Order of Vigilance. Hadar chose the latter.
Extras
Character Quote: "..."
