Ryland usually likes to dress casual, but takes great care to ensure he looks his best. No point in showing any side other than your best to those around. He usually keeps his hair short, but long enough to be combed back and styled. He always makes effort to present himself in a clean and well taken care of manner, wanting to look good to those around him. Especially since he knows all eyes will be on him given his Godly Heritage. On occasion he does like to dress up for the sake of doing so.

On the surface, Ryland is a friendly individual. Seeming carefree, confident, and good-natured to those around him. Although he is notably stubborn and does have a short fuse, his anger is even usually short lived except in certain circumstances. Ryland is known to step in for those being mistreated whenever he sees it, unable to stand idle while somebody else suffers within reach. He seems like what everybody would expect from the son of the King of the Gods. Charming, Confident, Strong, Attractive, and all the other positive aspects one could want. As if he were simply too perfect. 

Alas, what one sees on the surface is not always true. For Ryland is always under pressure from the burdens places upon his shoulders. Whether they be from everyone’s expectations for who he should be, his own expectations, or his own worry about failing others. Though he often seems to be carefree and happy, the boy is often enough acutely aware of everything he is doing and worried that somehow he might mess up. Worried that somehow, he might be the cause of pain to others. He keeps this hidden from all, except the Oracle and Chiron who know and counsel Ryland about his worries to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.

[b][color=#0072bc]Biography[/color][/b]
Born in Hollywood, most would think that Ryland came from some well-off family with moviestar parents. However, this was most certainly not the case for the young boy. For his mother had recently lost her waitressing job before he was born, and by the time Ryland was born they were homeless. He grew up on the streets for about three years, seeing various kinds strange things, despite his mother not believing him. Whenever he was three his mother remarried, the man being nice at first until the two moved with him. Soon enough it was revealed that he was a raging alcoholic with anger issues. Fists flew often in their house, and it was there Ryland learned how to fight. At least the basics of it. As he neared 8, he finally had enough with his father’s vicious attacks on him and his mother. When the man came home one day after the bar, the child was waiting for him with a baseball bat that he used to practice in the backyard. The fight didn’t take long, but Ryland was quickly overpowered by the older man. In the following beating, Ryland panicked and the… unthinkable happened. A freak bolt of electricity jumped from the sockets in the house and shocked his father. While he lay stunned, his mother grabbed Ryland and the two fled. 

After another few months on the streets, his mother remarried with a man she had been seeing in secret for a few years up until then. This man was much nicer, and actually avoided alcohol entirely. Ryland grew rather fond of him, as his new father had been more than happy to take the kid on as his own. A year later, the couple had a little girl. Ryland was happy about the development, but soon became worried as the monsters he remembered from childhood seemed to be showing up more often. When he was 11, everything boiled over as some lady who the lower body of two snakes came after his family. She clearly wanted him, but in the attack managed to claw his mother enough to cause a deep gash. Fear for their safety, he ran. The lady chased after him but he was eventually able to lose her. As he went back home, Ryland realized that if more of those monsters existed, then they might be after him as well. Instead of returning home and saying goodbye, he simply turned and ran. He didn’t know where, but it was just something that felt… right. It was a long journey that lasted months, but finally, he had made it to New York CIty. He was heading towards Long Island, where he could feel something calling him but was ambushed by a massive dog. He tried to run but it was faster, stronger than he. Its claws raked upon his back, and he blacked out as he heard something like a storm coming in. 

Ryland woke days later, laying in a house in different clothes, and feeling clean like he hadn't been for the past few months. At his bedside was a rather pretty girl about his age, but she quickly left the room and soon a man with a… horse body? Returned with her, and started to slowly explain all of it. It made sense in a strange way, and since then Ryland has been at camp. He’s left only once on a quest, and made a name for himself for his prowess in battle as well as in his power usage. Since then he’s become one of the more popular members around camp, especially given his ability to live up to the expectations with his heritage. He has also become the Oracle’s Caretaker and guardian, a position he got through his close friendship with the girl.

After a few years at camp, Ryland went on a quest with one Kiera Donovan the daughter of Poseidon. Together they went to the Groves of Dodona to stop a threat which seemed not of their world. Ever since the quest, some have noticed the two seem to be a bit closer and Ryland being significantly more protective over the girl despite he never admitting to this. Since then he has only been on one other quest, neither of his quest mates survived. But in doing so, he rescued a young daughter of Hades and brought her to camp. Being close with little Athanasia as if she were his little sibling since then.

[b][color=#0072bc]How Long Have They Been At Camp Half-Blood:[/color][/b] 
Ryland wound up at Camp Half-Blood on his own. Having made the trek across the country alone and unbeknownst to his mortal parents. The reasoning was simple, even as a young boy he found out what he was and that he was a danger to his family. So he left, better he bear the burdens of his heritage than those around him suffer. He never did make it to camp, rather he was found unconscious and bleeding by a Satyr in New York City, next to the dust that had been a hellhound. Afterwards he was brought to camp where his father claimed him before he woke, and Chiron decided that the boy was to be a year-rounder at camp. He was, after all, not only in danger from monsters but from the wrath of Hera as well.
