Hi folks.  I have a concept for a post apocalyptic horror scenario complete with a character below that I’m looking to play in said game.  Would there be anyone interested in the concept presented below? If so let me know and if there’s enough interest I’ll get this going a bit more formally.

I’m just trying to get back into things a little bit following some IRL drama and am looking for something low-key to ease myself back in.  Something small and personal like a game with 2-3 others which is what I’m aiming for here.

Ideally I’m looking for people who are strong writers with strong characterisation skills who are willing to develop their character and the world around with us.

Three years ago the world that we knew ended. Everything that was once familiar was destroyed in the blink of an eye. It began with what we came to refer to as "The Plague". People started getting sick, real sick. What we didn't know at the time was that as they lay on their sickbeds, they were rotting from the inside. The plague was virulent. It spread from host to host before they even knew they had it. Before we had chance to react, they died. 

But they didn't stay dead.

The victims rose again as cannibalistic, feral creatures. They could not be stopped.

All across the world, civilisation crumbled, and we degenerated into a society where only the strongest and fittest survived.

It is in this fractured world you try to eke out a living, however best you can. Wake. Eat. Sleep. Survive. This is the best you can hope for, here in the heart of decay.

Yet, little do you know that things are about to change. 

You are the unwilling recipients of an object of vital importance. Tasked with a dangerous cross-country trek across hundreds of thousands of miles, your destination is a safehold filled with those last remaining members of an organised resistance. In exchange for the item you bring, the item you need, you are promised safety and refuge.....for a time at least. Yet, what other choice do you have?

Soon, you will find that the land harbours greater dangers than that of the rotting dead that have come to infest the world. You will come face to face with werewolves, witches.....vampires even, and soon you will learn that the greatest dangers are not necessarily those that you can see.[/hider]

[hider=About the GM and Game Rules]Hello folks, my name is Marrakt, and although I have been a member of the site for just over a year or so, I’ve spent most of that time lurking.  Now I figure is the right time for me to jump in and start to ease myself back into the wonderful world of PbP.

First things first, I am a writer by heart and writing is my passion.  You can expect quite long and in-depth posts from myself, and generally I look for strong writers and role players to share my passion with.  If you’re willing to invest the time in the game and your character, we’re going to get along great.  That said, there are some basic guidelines I expect everyone to comply with:

1) Posting Frequency: I’m looking for between 1 post a week to keep the momentum going.  If you can post more I’ll certainly aim to respond but its not a dealbreaker if you can’t - as I said above I’m looking for something a little more low-key to ease myself back into the world of PbP.

2) Absences: If you’re going to be absent for any length of time then let me know - I’m not an ogre, I don’t bite.  If, however, you have not posted for two weeks either IC or OOC, and have not otherwise notified me of your absence I will remove you from the game and recruit a replacement.

3) Etiquette: I expect you to remain polite and civilised to your fellow players OOC at all times.  Crucially, if there is an issue with someone else, PM me in the first instance and I will mediate.  Do not take up the issue on the board.  Disruptive behaviour in the game will not be tolerated.

4) WIP posts: Are acceptable if completed within 24 hours.  Any longer and they will be removed and the game will continue.

5) GM / GM character posts: I will update when everyone has responded to my post at least once, or otherwise once a week at the latest.  If you have not posted in that time I will update irrespective and you will need to catch up.

6) Application Guidelines: I do not yet expect a fully fleshed put CS, for that reason I have not posted the application criteria.  This is merely an interest check to see if there is enough interest in the game to make it worthwhile for me to proceed with it.  Ultimately, when I do begin the application process, I will be looking for five people.  The game will not be first come first served — I will review the applications and select what I believe to be the best fits.  If that means taking on less than the requested five then so be it.[/hider]
