Pieces of 8 --- -Name: Butler -Gender: Male -Type: A demon (?) -Appearance: A tall, handsome man who appears in his mid-to-late thirties: Butler holds a great deal of pride over his physical appearance: due to his well toned body, finely trimmed beard, curly brown hair and a number of strange-yet-delightful tattoos that mark his upper-body and left arm. He is nearly constantly seen living up to his chosen name; wearing a waistcoat and formal dress trousers whenever possible, and always in impeccable condition. -Powers/Traits: Butler seems fairly modest in his abilities, compared to some of the more flash members of the company: He cannot move at super speeds, as a vampire might; nor can he transform into a behemoth of flesh and fur like a werewolf can; nor even can he change his appearance into that of a terrifying-if-not-enticing demonic visage, as a certain incubus may. Instead, Butler has the ability to open rifts through space: portals, if you will, which he can move non-living things from and through. Apart from his portal-based powers, Butler is limited in his skillset. He has a certain skill with weapons, but nothing that couldn’t be achieved with enough diligence and training. Indeed, Butler seems just a little bit too weak, considering the importance Bain puts on his contract. Butler more often than not spends his time acting out his self-assigned role as a butler for any group he is in. This can take the form of anything from brewing tea from across the planet to offering fresh attire to his comrades. He take an odd delight in offering these little services: although he takes just as much delight as trying to tease or tantalize people into entering contracts with him, where the stakes become much higher. Butler is also a stickler for reading, and takes great pleasure in reading human literature. Given his unknown-yet-prestigious age, Butler has had the time to read a hell of a lot of books, and has flitted between favorite in both singular examples and in genre. -Background: When Bain first met Butler is a tale rarely spoken about. The two met at some point in Bain’s long life, and upon meeting the enigmatic vampire, Butler agreed to join the Bain and Hoyle Company. Ever since joining the company, Butler has been rarely deployed on actual missions and instead seems to serve in various missions of importance inside the European continent. After the events involving the first-blood, and with the companies’ weakened state becoming an issue, Butler’s services were once again called into action by the vampire-founder of the company. What was offered to the demon is unknown, but the contract’s terms were simple. Butler was to devote himself completely to whatever mission Atticus and his group chooses to pursue, and avoid any and all contact with humans not on the company’s payroll.
