And so here comes another mage, whose semi-similarity in clothing to Lambert is a coincidence I swear
[sup][sub]#Gold | C- | 22 | Male[/sub][/sup]
Rigel Velox [sub]C- [sup]0.5 Years of Experience[/sup][/sub]

Magic Abilities
My magic of choice is the art of Kinesis- the manipulation of kinetic energy. Or momentum, or inertia, or other such things; the distinction's not that important, the mages who discovered it in the past called it Kinesis so I'm rolling with that. With my power I can alter the course of moving objects, speed them up or slow them down, reverse their course entirely, even propel objects at great speed... or I will be able to, if I ever grow my magic skills to that point. At the moment the only thing I can do with any real degree of expertise is hold objects in stasis. Keeps them in place until I release them, and if they're struck through, say, a series of blows from someone's fists, the force of all of those impacts is combined into a single burst of energy once I release the object. Granted, at my level of experience I can't hold people or other living things in stasis, I can't hold anything that is larger or heavier than I am, the number of objects I can put in stasis at once is limited, and objects such as wood or bone that directly come from living things are less affected by my magic. It's very effective on materials like stone and metal, though. Aside from that, I can accelerate and decelerate objects, but my level of control with this... well, it leaves a lot to be desired. The last guild I applied to turned me down because their master insisted I demonstrate acceleration and his nephew got a marble lodged in his forehead as a result. Not my intention, but I understand why they were upset. Oh- while I can't yet use my power on people, I can use it on their clothing or items they are holding. That's why I wear metal plates on my boots and glove- acceleration on them while I'm running makes for a great speed boost, and accelerating a punch adds a lot of power to it. ...I just wish I didn't end up running into walls and trees so often because of it.

Skills and Work Experience
Before I started learning magic, I was a student of math. Originally I had plans to run a business or work as an accountant for one or something else mundane and stable, but frankly after a year or so I came to a dreadful realization- what I was doing was incredibly boring. And so the logical conclusion was to become a mage; preferably in a discipline that still allowed me to get use out of what I had learned but was a bit more exciting. And to my luck, I discovered Kinesis. So basically what I'm saying is if you need someone to "keep the books", as they say, or maintain an inventory or do some other number crunching type thing when he's not out doing a job or training or something, I'm your guy.

Combat Experience
I can't say I have a great deal of this, especially in regards to fighting other mages, but as far as things like highwaymen and such go I had a few encounters with those types during the journey that led me here. And here I am, unharmed- and let me tell you, I didn't flee from those fights. Well... I might have from one or two of them. But I didn't flee from most of those fights, which is clearly what's important.

Reasons for Applying
As I said in my work experience section, I originally studied math but as I traveled down that road I found it wasn't really what suited me, so I decided to go down this one instead. And this road has led me here, to this guild, to this application, applying for this guild. Because the other guilds rejected me, because I guess I was too much of a novice for them. With the exception of that last guild I was applying for, but then the marble incident happened. So basically to put it bluntly I'm at the end of the road here and I was hoping that a newer guild like this one would be willing to accept a 'lesser' mage like me. I've always learned better through experience than studying and I have a feeling that guild work is the best way for me to grow stronger. Plus, the prospect of getting paid to play the role of hero is always appealing.

Why Should We Pick You?
Because I asked nicely, obviously. And because I didn't lodge a marble in the foreheads of you or any hypothetical nephews of yours, clearly. I'd say Kinesis is a unique and thus invaluable magic, but my experiences have shown me there's no short supply of that 'round here... Oh, and the math thing again. You need a math guy, right? Everyone definitely needs a math guy. As long as I'm not just doing math, anyways. That's not what I became a mage for.
