She has complex feelings around people who eat meat, she is a vegan herself. The complications come from Lacenda being a meat-eater and also her life partner. Summer has very basic notions of good and evil. She believes that there are evil people in the world and there are good people in the world. However, she is also willing to extend courtesy to those she believes don't even deserve it or would reciprocate it. Summer's fathers have a very difficult time giving her limitations or reasonable rules because she is so often out on her own. On one hand, they want her to experiment and be free in her life choices. However on the other they are struggling to still make a personal connection with their daughter as she becomes further and further consumed by a desire of the unknown. Summer often times skips classes, not because she is so intelligent she doesn't need to be there - rather because she is very bored with them. She is a horrible listener insofar as teachers go (a fairly good listener when a friend needs a shoulder to lean on). Summer is incredibly perceptive and will always tell the truth when she can, opting for the path of what she percieves to be good.
π—›π—œπ—¦π—§π—’π—₯𝗬 β–”β–”β–”β–”β–”β–”β–”β–”β–”β–” β€œI have three dads, one's a chef, one's a farmer and one's a dad. Also a sister! Lacenda Grove.”
Summer's fathers adopted her at the age of two. As long as she has been capable of making memories she has known them. Her fathers themselves are three gentlemen in a polyamorous gay relationship, all married to one another. They are, Giancarlo, Fredrick, and Gordon. Giancarlo was a chef in a fairly nice restaurant at one point, when he met Fredrick and Gordon who were on a date. One thing lead to two simultaneous illicit affairs and now, they all eat belgian waffles in the morning. Gordon's father was the minister of their shared wedding, and with that wedding he bequeathed the petting zoo to Giancarlo and Fredrick along with his son. While Giancarlo was initially the least receptive to the notion of raising animals, he soon grew to love it and after a short amount of time being married, they adopted Summer. By the time Summer had entered pre-school she met, if you ask her, her soulmate. Lacenda Grove from down the block. They lived within spitting distance of one another and found themselves on the altar early at age four, married at the sandbox. They didn't have a minister, but Summer had told Lacenda that her papa's would be together forever because they got married. Few people know it was Lacenda's idea for them to replicate the magical ritual in the sandbox that day. As time progressed, so to did their friendship. Summer grew in a very much straight direction, constantly progressing towards a point of being a wild child, something her parents saw from the beginning. But Lacenda constantly made turns that no one could see. The first was in grade six, they argued over a burger - Summer indignant over the fact that Lacenda apparently didn't find it awful that she was eating something that was alive once. That it was murdered for her meal. Summer wouldn't back down either. Later one Lacenda must have spent hours at the claw machine, getting Dumbo. The stuffed animal Summer still treasures more than any her parents showered her with. It was a pink elephant, her favourite colour and animal. By grade eight Summer and Lacenda were still walking to school together everyday, but Summer noticed that everyone else was seeing less and less of Lacenda. It was around the time of her Grandma's dissappearance. Summer was part in parcel to the search parties, holding Lace's hand through most of it, but they never found her. The funeral was only a little bit later on. Less of Lace's smile and less of her magic she brought to every conversation was present around that time. Since then, Summer has been trying to restore her friend anyway she could think of.
