Beloved as the game may be eventually you stopped playing, especially since the company went away. No one knows the details of how and why they suddenly closed up shop even when all their properties were widely popular and marketable still. Like all things, they were lost to time. As fond as they were you moved on and forgot about the whole affair. Years go by and you're an adult now. You've forgotten all about Pokemon until you find yourself face to face with a living breathing Pokemon, and an opportunity become an actual Pokemon tamer. No one knows how they got here, and how it works, but somehow they're here and they have to be dealt with. All you really know is that they're definitely not of this world. Your story will follow you and your fellow tamers in trying to keep the peace when rouge, wild, and often very dangerous Pokemon start causing some real chaos to an unknowing public. You and a handful of others are based in (fictional/inspired by) Seattle and it's neighboring areas. You are a member of a growing underground network of Pokemon trainers, arguably the most established group. In some capacity or other you are a member of this team because you have a pokemon, but more than that you help deal with wild pokemon and take active participation in their efforts. Whatever the long-term effects of your actions may be the day to day is all about keeping the world of Pokemon a secret and safe from itself and from humanity because one day there may be more Pokemon than there are people, and you are the first line in that defense.[/sub]

Overview & Format:

[sub]Insp: Digimon Tamers X Pokemon Adventures Style: Animorphs, Grimm, Primeval[/sub] The story as stated prior will follow the day to day lives of said Pokemon Tamers and their partners. The RP will be episodic in nature and will follow a monster/s of The week format. Each episode will be centered around the before and after of a Pokemon encounter. Said encounter will be about a Pokemon that has appeared in the real world through a process called Glitching. Their appearance warrants either combat in hopes to make the Pokemon faint, but if not appeasement, relocation, taming is the next best process. Glitching is the process that the Pokemon underground community has dubbed the way that the Pokemon appear in the real world. When Glitching the space where the Pokemon appears in resembles that of a semisolid mass of light, data, and sparks of multicolored energy. When Glitching the Pokemon cannot be interacted with, until they become solid enough to cause real damage. When encountered the best solution is to often fight the Pokemon and make them faint, but the longer they stay in this world, the harder it will be for them to return. Each episode will have an A-Plot and B-plot. The A-Plot involves the actual monster of the week fighting which will involve a Pokemon appearing in the wild, or going rogue. The B-Plot will be you, and your Pokemon's daily life and what the life of a Pokemon tamer is really like. The B-Plot will also involve the comedy, drama, shenanigans, and dangers of what it means to take care of a real life Pokemon with actual animal needs such as feeding, bathing, enrichment, etc. Per episode, the specific time, date, and location for the episode's setting, and the pokemon/s encountered. Depending on the number of players there may be more than one episode going at a time as so that each setting doesn't feel too crowded. In the beginning, I foresee crowding being a non-issue, but later on, once more pokemon are in play crowding and positioning may affect the story's flow greatly. At the beginning of the story, encounters will be limited to one or a handful of small to medium sized Pokemon causing chaos, but this will obviously change as the story progresses. If we manage to get there I will introduce the element of Pokemon encounters and the Glitching phenomena to affect the space in a much larger fashion, aka reality getting somewhat distorted to cater the needs of the story, and the Pokemon of the week. At the start, you have already encountered and tamed your first Pokemon, and have already established some sort of relationship. You and your partner at this point have already trained to some degree that you are combat capable. And, thanks to your fellow trainers, who you only know to a certain degree, understand the grave nature of Glitching and how the Pokemon underground community needs you in their ranks.

Pokemon:

The Pokemon in this RP will basically be real animals, ergo they will need to be fed, cleaned, nursed, instinctual, and most importantly get hurt and die as is the nature of all animals in the real world. Granted we won't be killing Pokemon for effect, but it should be mentioned anyway as it can or will be a possibility. If said pokemon is notably more aggressive or dangerous in their description then follow said description as necessary, but for the sake of suspension of disbelief, we can argue that their behaviors and biology will change once they are properly tamed whilst still having some animalistic behavior. The Pokemon's flavor text/descriptions, height and weight etc. is more literal and in full effect, but much like their behavior let's give them room for suspension of disbelief. For example, if it says your Pokemon can melt steel beams because of its fire then it can melt steel beams, when wild they will do so rampantly, but when tamed they are more likely to behave and regulate their abilities. All in all please be mindful of how the Pokemon's biology and behavior as described interacts with real-life physics and rules. Pokemon combat, and statistics especially the ones that are important to gameplay such as type advantages, levels, EV's IV's etc. are not in play. There won't be any Pokemon levels, rather your ability to train and fight with pokemon is based on your character, the pokemon, and the moves they know, and how your character handles the combat. However, be mindful of how strong they are and how they behave. Special circumstance evolutions such as trading, stones, locations, etc. will be discussed on a case by case basis. You are allowed to use or have your Pokemon perform any moves that they can learn naturally by level. Any moves in the breeding, move tutor, and tm/hm category are to be discussed prior to being used. Moves are going to be treated in the same way as the anime, in that there won't be a limit to them, and will require training and mastery occasionally for the mon to perform it successfully. Be mindful of how said moves interact with real-world physics and structures as well. In the same way, as it is in the anime moves that are normally just status boosting or have mundane effects can be more dangerous and physics-bending depending on how you interpret it. There won't be any Pokeballs in the story but will come into play later on. For now, your character must have a reasonable way to house and move said pokemon until Pokeballs become active in the story. For the sake of making things somewhat easier, we can say there is a form of perception filter around Pokemon making them difficult to comprehend and see when hidden, but once you interact with Pokemon the perception breaks. Said perception filter is easier for pokemon that can blend in somewhat normally or resemble real life things, making large, object-based, and humanoid pokemon more difficult to hide and move. Much like in the game there will be a date, weather, seasons, and night and day cycle system. Per episode, I will provide the information regarding said information such as what time days of the months the episode will be in, how much time will be allotted for the episode in game, etc. Some episodes will range from a single day to a week, or more depending on how much we need the story to move on. Lastly, for clarification, this story takes place in twenty minutes into the future Seattle.

The Pokemon Underground Network Collective:

They are a vast underground collective network of Pokemon trainers located around the world. Its origins are shrouded in mystery, but according to rumors they came before Pokemon the game even existed. For years they have remained secret dedicating what they can to the protection, detection, study, rehabilitation, and integration of Pokemon in the human world. They are a network of people, individuals, groups, and organizations clustered together like a giant spiderweb. They live in backroom channels in the deep underbelly of all things secret, communicating only through the most private of all private networks and means. They use written letters, graffiti code, and any trusted form of communication to share the information they gather to plan for the unknown. Using their own intelligence networks and the talents of pokemon and their trainers they gather and build resources to build the organization with the sole purpose of protective pokemon from themselves, each other, and a world not quite ready for them. No one is quite sure how big the network is, as each member is only privy to the information that they know, and what is trusted to them. Within the network, members fulfill various roles, each valued in their own way. The select few with the resources and means are tasked with the safekeeping and collecting of pokemon in private, secure, and viable habitats where individual and groups of pokemon can live and adjust to their new world. Handfuls are scientist and researchers studying the biology, behavior, materials, and phenomena that is the pokemon. From networking, agriculture, architecture, financial acumen, etc. whatever resource and skill a person can contribute the network will tap into it. At the very foundation of this networks are the trainers. Trainers, or tamers, are the backbone and beginning of the Pokemon Underground Network Collective. They are individuals who are firsthand witnesses and partners to pokemons themselves. Their basic duties include the housing, nourishment, maintenance, and training of pokemon in their day to day, to keep them as pets. A handful, however are sometimes tasked to do battle, to function as a joint animal control and police. They are tasked with the identification, capture, and pacifying rouge, wild, and destructive pokemon. Your character, however they came to this organization, are a member, you don't quite know where you are in their ranks, but you are very keenly aware they're watching and helping you.

Rules and Character Sheet:

1. Standard RP rules apply, that is all on that matter. 2. The character tab is for approved characters only. Do not "reserve" a spot in the Character Tab unless you were given permission to by me. 3. I will not reserve your starting Pokemon. They will go to whoever submits said pokemon. Any additional Pokemon you wish to obtain must be run through the GM, capturing of said pokemon can be done in story or out of the story. 4. I will move the story along as needed, and it is up to you to keep and move them and the story as needed. 5. Since we are episodic in nature you can either participate in the said episode or abstain, choosing to explore the universe with your character as you see fit, however overarching plots will be done within the episodes. 6. I am not a stickler for post length. I'd rather have a meaningful paragraph or two, over an essay full of filler. Posts should have been able to address the needs of the story’s current arc and should always keep the story going whilst maintaining character interaction. 7. To keep things a bit more organized, please say where your post is taking place at the start of your RP. There will be enough places of interest that you should be able to use one of them, or make one up as needed. 8. If you are addressing a specific player characters’ actions please mention them at the top of the post to notify them that you are specifically replying to said post. People may miss certain words or assume that certain actions are not intended towards them, this should keep everyone on track just in case. 9. This is going to be an RP that rewards taking initiative, and starting overarching plotlines of your own. Per episode, I'll provide a premise and the necessary information but I'm not going to be controlling anyone. Your characters must find a way to join in the story on their own. You are encouraged to use whatever possible sources of conflict in the setting provided to move the story along in both the story’s current or overarching arc and your character’s own personal arc.

What you need to know first: 1. All characters must be adults with a life aka jobs, families, romantic life, etc. 2. You are to start with one (1) Pokemon with a relatively stable relationship and battle experience. 3. The Pokemon you start with must at least be in it's earliest/infant stage. 4. You may follow a theme typing or some sort of concept when creating a character, but it is not necessary to do so. 5. All Pokemon up to generation 7 is allowed, but NO LEGENDARY, MYTHICAL, EVENT EXCLUSIVE POKEMON ALLOWED (This includes Meltan and Melmetal, and any Pokemon released in the future in the interim). 6. No Z-Moves, or Mega-Evolutions allowed. 7. There won't be any Pokedexes, or any other pokemon related items in the story, for now. 8. There won't be any Pokeballs yet but will be in play later on. This means that your characters must have a reasonable method to keep and move their Pokemon whilst a Pokeball isn't available yet. 9. Keep the CS short and succinct, and no more than two paragraphs.
Name: Age: (21+) Birthday: Occupation: Residence: (Where you and your pokemon live) Appearance: (If you want to use an image please use a hider.)
