This was a cardinal sin against their pride; for loosing one's beaststone was akin to loosing one's importance and identity. Apart from trying to track down the thief, the only way Lyx could regain lost honor would be to scrounge enough money and hope to acquire one on the black market. Reduced to a status fitting peasants until the stone could be recovered, Lyx joined as a servant; proudly cleaning up and running errands for the gathering company.
"Nya! O-of course master!" Lyx hurried across the room; tripping over a snag in the carpet before catching themself before the head of the house. It was the first day as a servant and all did not go well. Ever since losing the beaststone, there has been nothing but bad luck around every corner. "S-sorry, nya~" Lyx straightened up and bowed to the man. Flustered on making such a poor impression. The man cleared his throat, and ordered to fetch him some tea while he worked in his study. This test was the determining factor for the job. "Yes, master. Right away, nya~" Lyx bowed once more and left. Trying to push the door open before realizing it was a pull. Once in the kitchen, Lyx went to work boiling the water and gathering the tea. Taking out a tray to deliver everything on without any problem. The kettle whistled and the beastkin hurried to remove the pot. Setting the kettle next to the cup and saucer; being an efficient servant and shaking in the white condiment directly to the pot. A knock at the master's door. "Nya~ your tea, sir." Remembering which way the door opened, Lyx slowly walked in to deliver the tea. Careful not to trip over the rug once more; the young servant set the tray at the tableside. Picking up the kettle to pour, the lid crashed to the ground. Hot liquid followed, splashing over the two of them; following a incomprehensible apologetic babble spewing from Lyx's lips. To which the master just growled and stared at the the cup which had managed to retain some of the spilled drink. Calmly, he rose the glass and took a sip. Salt water. Needless to say, Lyx didn't get the job. Apart from being denied to help clean the mess, a new opportunity rose to serve in some sort of company outfit.
