[indent]Tegumi is an. . . eccentric individual, to say the least. While constantly upbeat and cheerful to a fault in even the most dire(and inappropriate) situations. To most, this overt cheerfulness quickly loses any chance of being seen as endearing due to the woman's proclivity towards invasions of personal space and privacy, not due to a lack of understanding such things but simply a lack of care. To the young scientist, such concepts are archaic and regressive to society as a whole, among a few other societal norms.

The most prevalent quirk one will come to know about Tegumi, however, is that they have an insatiable desire to understand ghouls, or more to the point, how they function on a fundamnetal level. She wants to know how they're able to commit suchinhuman feats of physical power, to rapidly form biological matter in the form of their kagune, to know the extent of their mutative and adaptable physiologies, and countless other questions that surrounded the mysterious beings that they knew as [i]Ghouls[/i]. And the core of this interest, she would tell you, has nothing to do with how her parent's passed. Nothing to do with the traumatic even that lead to her being dropped off at the CCG orphanage. But to those that saw the look on her face the moment a certain ghoul turned up on the operating table infront of her during a live dissection. . . the amount of seething, burning vitriol in her gaze as she continued on like it was just another day at the job was enough to make the other doctor's fear she was going to take a one of the scalpels and stab it right into the victim's throat.

[b][u]Background[/u][/b]
[indent]Tegumi's interest in ghouls began early in her life, with a small girl wandering away from her parent's apartment in the dead of night to meet another small girl scrummaging around in the alley. This girl was a ghoul by the name of Kasumi and, for the next 5 years of their life, she was Tegumi's best friend. Even as a child, Tegumi was always friendly and welcoming and even though she had heard of how terrifying ghouls could be from her parents and teachers, the girl before her looked like any other. . . even if she was a bit smelly. 

Despite some early misgivings, the first meeting between the girl's ended in a somewht tepid promise to meet again, Tegumi happy to have a new friend to share things with and enjoy the secretive nature of their relationship. And so the two continued to meet every other night or so in, talking to each other about their days, their troubles, and often doing what they could to help each other through dark times. As Tegumi grew older, she became more aware of the danger that Ghouls presented, but still couldn't find it in herself to distance herself from Kasumi. In truth, the more time she spent witht eh ghoul, the more she felt a certain. . connection between the two. A spark that she couldn't desecribe but made every instant apart from Kasumi all the more sad and lonely, and every moment that more joyful. The two lived in a peace safe from all the bigotry and hatred, uncaring of what the world thought. It was around the time when they were both around 13 years old, however, that everything fell apart.

First was the death of Tegumi's mother in a mugging gone wrong that left her bleeding in the street. The scene of the crime was identified along with her belongings. . . but the body had vanished by the time that authorities had arrived. Needless to say, this put a strain in their friendship, but the girls tried their best to work through it. Bad things happened, but it was no reason to blame Kasumi for the actions of some other ghoul. And the one slight upside is that the two got to spen dmore time with each other, as her father often wasn't home due to his work, leaving the house completely unattended except for Tegumi for long periods of time. Kasumi basically started to live with her around this time, they hung out so much, doing the things that young girls often did when they got together. Talking about dumb things, doing each others hair, watching movies, playing games. Honestly, despite Tegumi's unease over what happened with her mother, she was certain that without Kasumi, she would have fallen into a deep depression.

This makes me special capable in managing the physical health of the others in the squad and make sure none are endangering themselves or others.
