Story: Felix's life began in a humble log cabin, within the forests just north of Nuniel. He lived a rather quiet yet simple life with his parents, who both wanted to be free from the confines of monarchy and be "free". The father was a local trapper, wielding a barreled pistol from the days of being a pistoleer in the army, who hunted animals to both feed his family and occasionally sell to nearby towns and villages for a decent profit. The mother remained simply a housewife, taking care of Felix and often going out into the wilderness to search of herbs and berries for medicine usage. Felix was a curious individual, who loved to go out into the wilderness and explore what the world had to offer. He'd often go on long treks in the woods, swim in the crystal blue lakes, and hike up vast mountains for fun. It was clear that he was born to be a nature man and he enjoyed every second of it. But as he got older, he began to realize the flaws of living in such an isolated position. When he'd occasionally go into town to buy certain products, he'd often see the children in town interacting and playing with one another. They all seemed very happy and they all seemed to enjoying being within their presence. While Felix often made "friends" with certain animals within the forest, it wouldn't even compare to basic human interaction outside of his parents. And after seeing a military Nunielian propaganda poster which claimed for recruitments to travel around the world, it would hammer in his interest in wanting to travel to new lands. Why stay here in this limited space when he could travel around the world and maybe even make some new friends along the way? This interest was finally achieved when he was 16, when Felix finally told his parents on what he wanted to do. At first, his parents weren't too fond of him leaving, both wanting him to stay for at least a little bit longer. However, they would be forced to acknowledge their son's wishes. But before the young man could leave to war, his father handed down his barrel pistol to him. He was told never to loose it and to always treasure it as a reminder of his parents. Vowing to keep it safe, Felix said farewell to his parents as he headed off into the vast world beyond him. For the first two years he found himself alone while traveling the lands. However, he eventually encountered a mercenary group known as "The Red Branch Company". Seeing this as a chance to travel with potential friends, he proved his skill to them and joined them on the spot.
The forest was alive with the sounds of dawn, as the wildlife began to wake from their deep slumber. The birds sung their sweet melodies overhead, while the frogs croaked by the glistening stream, and the deer were forging the damp ground for fallen berries and moistened grass. The nocturnal predators of the night had already disappeared into the shadows of the deep forest, away from the blinding sunlight that they so hated. As these threats come to pass, the land was simply peaceful with the daily morning routines performed by the native wildlife. All was simply well in this portion of the vast forest. But with the disappearance of these night-time prowlers, another creature carefully stalks through the winding trees. It walked slowly through the leafy ground as they quietly crunched underneath. Stealth here was of the absolute necessity. If it was to make any sudden movements, it'll risk getting itself caught by the sensitive ears of the bucks. Time was also an important necessity. If the wind blowing behind it were to shift towards the herd, they'd scent it's presence way before it gets close. It could all change at any moment. The scent of victory can quickly reveal itself to be nothing but a failed score. Once it got close to the herd, it slowly got into position. The creature hunched underneath a tree as it eyes for an easy target. The farther from the group was the victim, the better was its chance of successfully getting it it. It moistened its lips hungrily as it finally notices an injured buck. The scratches on his left back leg was a clear sign that it had been attacked several days ago. And he was limping badly. Good. That means he won't go too far even if he attempts to run away. The creature slowly gets into position, ready to launch at it's unsuspecting target. It was now or never. BLAM! The silence was interrupted abruptly by a thunderous chaotic boom that rocked the entire area. The herd was utterly spooked as they scattered all over the clearing into the woods. The females guided their young as they suddenly disappeared within mere seconds. Silence once again overtook the forest, just as soon as it left. Laying on the ground however, were the soft whimpers of a dying animal. The buck's back right leg was struck by a sheering pain, the shock having electrified his senses. It was bad enough that it already suffered from a bad leg, but now he was helpless. Out from the forest, Felix came from the woods as he began to collect his bounty. He felt bad that he had to shoot that wounded deer, but it was clear that he didn't have much time to live either. The scratches on his leg were deep, very deep, and had already shown signs of infection. It would no doubt give the deer buck an agonizing death if it hadn't been treated. For a hunter he should've perhaps went for a more healthy individual, but he couldn't help but to feel sorry for him. Once he got to the whimpering male, he kneeled down as he cradled the deer's head in his arms. "I know, I know..." he whispered, softly petting his head, "Shhhhhh... I know it hurts. I'm sorry... Just breathe..." As he attempted to soothe the deer, he slowly slid his right hand into his pocket. From it he reveals a glistening blade, which twinkles in the raising sunlight. "It's gonna be over soon." Felix continued whispering, not ever raising his voice, "I promise..." He slowly points the tip at the buck's throat. He knows what he has to do. With that, Felix slowly injects the blade within a specific angle at the buck's throat. The animal struggled slightly, emitting a strange gurgling noise, before it breathed his last with a heavy sigh. The deed was done. The hunter released his grasp on the animal's head as it too breathes a sigh of respect towards the fallen animal. "This will definitely feed the group rather nicely." he said to himself confidently, "Really hope they won't waste it... unlike the last one I hauled in." With that, he used his knife to begin skinning the animal of it's hide. Once collecting said hide, he chopped the deer up into organized pieces and placed them all in his hunting sack before heading back. It would serve to feed he and his company well. The creature, meanwhile, growled discontentedly as it turned tail and continued his search for an easier meal.
