The Thompson family has had a prominent presence in the US Military, stemming all the way to the Revolutionary War. As a result, Victoria was raised with near military standards in her household. Of course some liberties had to be taken and some rules had to be loosened as Victoria got older and older. Victoria can be boiled down to being a rather disciplined woman who knows what exactly she wants and wants to do. Victoria prefers to be a leader, but she can take orders and relinquish command if she needs to. 

However Victoria's social skills are a little stunted. She doesn't know what to do in certain situations and most of the time she will flub it up entirely. It makes interacting with her a little difficult but those that actually get to know her will figure out how to interact her in a way that makes her more comfortable and less likely to mess things up. She tries to be as nice as she can, but sometimes some of the things she says comes across the wrong way and then it just becomes a giant mess that Victoria doesn't know how to deal with.

[b][color=c993ea]Why did you want to become an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.?:[/color][/b] Victoria originally didn't want to. However, after hitting a dead end in her career after her last deployment, she had nowhere else to go. She pondered joining the ranks of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but a connection she had provided her with the idea to go somewhere else. She had the expertise and knowledge that could be useful in an entirely different organization. That somewhere else turned out to be, in fact, SHIELD. 

[b][color=c993ea]General History:[/color][/b] Born in Austin, Texas - Victoria was the last in a family of 5. Her father, John Thompson, was a General in the US Navy and her mother, Jacqueline Thompson, was a nurse. She is the youngest of three siblings, joining her brother David, who is a Navy SEAL, and her sister, Lydia, who is a teacher. Since her father was such a prominent figure in the military, the Thompsons had decided that the best course of action was to send their kids to a military academy for the first few years of their life. It was for the best -- considering just how much attention the kids of General Thompson would get in a regular public school.

It wasn't until General Thompson retired from the US Military that Victoria was allowed to attend a public high school. There... it was a rather forgetful experience. Not much happened in her time in high school -- she had a small group of friends but amazingly enough, her connection with General John Thompson had gone unnoticed, which had managed to work in her favor. But, it also meant that she didn't really accomplish much socially. It was hard for her to associate with people who didn't really come from the same background as her. It was hard to relate to kids who weren't military brats.

Her high grades and a dash of nepotism had allowed Victoria to be admitted into West Point Academy, where she studied to obtain her PhD in Systems Engineering before having to carry out her obligations as a serviceman in the US Military. Seeing tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Second Lieutenant Victoria Thompson lead her squad in the US army and carried out many successful missions at the helm. Victoria also  received many accolades and decorations for her service. 

However, after her last deployment, she didn't know what to do. Readjusting to civilian life was harder on her than she had thought, and she was  struggling to find a job that could accommodate her particular skillset and means. Then all of a sudden, a connection in the military had given her a recommendation, leading her to where she is today.
