Penelope walked quietly besides him as they headed back towards the waterfall. She noticed Crow had gone quiet as well, seemingly lost in his thoughts as they walked. The silence was comfortable though so the knight didn't bother to break it. Her weary gaze focused ahead as they walked, thinking over her plans for the coming days as the battle drew closer. It wasn't long before she noticed they had reached the waterfall and she slowed to a stop to say her goodbyes. She returned his embrace, wrapping her arms around his middle as he kissed her cheek. "I'll see you then." she mumbled with a small nod. As he let her go, she took a small step back from him and smiled softly at the thief as his hands trailed down her arms. "I love you too. Be safe on your raid." With their goodbyes said, she turned and began to head back in the direction of her camp. -- It didn't take long for the knight to reach her camp and luckily, she had a rather uneventful walk on her way back. As she reached the camp, she was quick to notice an all too familiar figure standing on guard. The knight frowned a little, quickly recognizing Gavin. She had almost forgotten that the male knight had caught her sneaking out to see Crow. He must have switched shifts with Roger to wait for me. She shook her head, knowing he likely did it due to his distrust of the thief. For a moment, she was tempted to slip past him to avoid any questioning or conversation. However, she decided that likely wouldn't be wise if he was waiting for her. She didn't want him to get overly worried if he didn't see her return. Letting out a long sigh, she stepped out into view and began to walk over to him. "I thought Roger had guard duty right now?" She asked him as she approached. The male knight's gaze quickly flickered over to her and he smiled faintly. "He did.." Gavin shuffled his feet before shrugging his shoulders. "I just figured it'd be better if I switched with him since.. well you know." Penelope shook her head. "Thank you but really, I don't need you trying to cover for me." "I just don't want you to get into any trouble." Gavin sighed softly. "Is it really so bad for me to help you?" Penelope pursed her lips together and crossed her arms. "I just.. No but I don't want to drag you into that trouble with me. This was the decision I made after all. I'd just rather not get you involved in it." She shook her head at him as she noticed him beginning to open his mouth to argue and moved to walk past him before he could. "I need to get to bed.. Training starts early tomorrow. Goodnight Gavin." "Goodnight Penelope." He sighed with a hint of defeat in his voice. Penelope continued on her own back to her tent, quickly settling down for the night.
