[b]Personality:[/b][/color][indent]Zahra is stoic and solemn, philosophical and religious, acting with conscious certainty, precision, and control. Extremely professional and versatile, Zahra has very few demands, seeking to fill whatever role is thrust upon her. This is not a sign of meekness, but a sign of confidence in her performance and ability to produce results. She doesn't appear to let anything phase her, or rub her the wrong way, choosing silence rather than confronting offenses or slights. Like a rock, Zahra is steadfast and stable.[/indent]
[color=a187be][b]Backstory:[/b][/color][indent]From a young age, Zahra was surrounded by religion, her parents being scholars of Islam, whose profession it was to preserve this ancient part of the culture of Al-Amir. Zahra's father started training her in the memorization of the Qur'an, the holy scripture of Islam. He taught her that practitioners of this oral tradition were given the title of 'hafidh', or 'protecter', since those who memorized the Qur'an were considered guardians of the faith. Because while a book can be destroyed, the mind was inviolable, a fortress that cannot be penetrated nor have it's contents forcibly stolen. A hafidh had the knowledge to catch errors in textual Qur'ans as well as errors in recitation, allowing a hafidh to preserve the purity and sanctity of the word of God. A hafidh also preserves the faith by teaching the Qur'an to the next generation, as her father did for her, thus establishing an unbroken chain of narration, generations and generations long, that reaches all the way back to the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad.

This trained Zahra's mental faculties to the point that she was, unfortunately, chosen for the Genius Tax. As it turns out, her ability to memorize scripture expressed itself as an uncanny ability to manage a dizzying number of autonomous drones through a neural network. This aligned itself well with Al-Amir's defensive tactics, and Zahra became a 'defender' in a most real sense. Proving herself capable, she earned the right to a custom NC, one that would take full advantage of her unique talent. Over time, she was given a certain degree of autonomy, often going on missions outside of Al-Amir as a military representative. When news of the imminent attack on Haven arrived in Al-Amir, Zahra volunteered to provide aid to the city of Darwin on behalf of Al-Amir. The reasoning was thus: 1) supporting Haven against Red Star helped destabilize a major rival, 2) it was a good PR move in that it showed solidarity with independents, a growing power, and major potential source of trade, 3) it allowed Al-Amir to use their support as leverage in future negotiations, 4) since Haven was founded by Kurds who espoused New Rojavan political philosophy, Haven would culturally be very easy for Al-Amir to ally with, and 5) by going alone, Al-Amir could always claim that Zahra had gone rogue should Red Star ever seek retribution. Thus Zahra mobilized her Neural Combatant, Hisn-ul-Ghayma, and traveled to Haven via naval transport vessel.[/indent]
