   Black Friday. November 23rd, 2019. The day that many analysts consider to be the busiest shopping day of the year because retailers offer various sales to entice traffic and earn a few money dollars. As the result, millions of customers wait in the cold until the morning of Black Friday. Even known people tend to end up with injuries, the event seemed to be going smoothly. Until something horrible happened two days later. That was when sudden spikes of hospital admissions occurred all over cities like Los Angeles and New York City. Everyone had the common  symptoms found in a cold (fever, sore throat, etc.) and doctors just sent them home with prescriptions. By the time that officials noticed something wrong, the first deaths took place a day after going to hospitals.

When the death troll reached one hundred, the Central Disease Control entered protocol and began their investigation into the outbreak. Unfortunately, it had become such a problem that schools and universities were closed indefinitely. And in the hopes of containing the outbreak, the country closed down the border and forced transports into lockdown. The National Guard begun to setup makeshift camps for the inflected and non-inflected while maintaining order with the local authorities. When the citizens started to resist their efforts, the military came to assist them while imposing martial law. Citizens that defied the new law were executed and made examples.

And with the closing of the United State of America's borders, the world economy collapsed and international trade halted as other countries isolated themselves. Before the American government started to censor worldwide news, the latest reports revealed that outbreaks with similar symptoms occurred across Europe. On day seven of the Dollar Flu, power and water shut down in major cities while stores were pillaged by starving people that were restless. That was around the time that the military and authorities started to lose control and chaos ensured. In Los Angeles and Detroit, the local gangs started their vicious conquest of their neighborhoods before fighting each other. In other places, militia groups formed to restore order and push their own agenda against the innocent. 

The American government had lost control of their citizens and land. The final straw that broke the camel's back was the Fall of Washington DC to both communists and nationalists militia groups. Before the President was forced to leave the White House, he enacted Directive 51. The Directive claimed that the power to execute procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a "catastrophic emergency." Shortly after it was enacted, a signal was sent out across the country that activated sleeper cells and agents. And within in hours of their awaking, the capital was burning and government officials were either evacuated or hunted down. The Division rose from the ashes and absorbed remaining authorities in the country.
