As has been mentioned before, the Marisian court is, in some ways, not so rigidly structured as in many other countries. For example, attendants are often chosen by the reigning royals and for some kind of political advantage, but both Genevieve and Philip largely got to choose for themselves.

[b]Natalie Stewart (19)[/b] - Genevieve's lady-in-waiting—an official companion, but also a combination of personal maid and live-in stylist. It's a position Natalie volunteered for, and which Gen accepted readily. The two are close friends.

[b]Christopher Grace (21)[/b] - He's been trained as part of the royal guard, but Christopher is not [i]actually[/i] Genevieve's personal bodyguard. He has the skills, and Gen wanted him to come, so her parents allowed it. (They might not have, did they know that Chris was also Gen's first kiss, even though the two have long since moved past that.)
