This is the character submission I sent to Sep. Let me know what you guys think.
Name: Battle Droid 5972 ((AKA Guardian)) Species: Refurbished heavily modified B2 super battle droid. Age: Six Appearance: Looks almost identical to a standard B2 Super battle droid except with a number of Mandalorian symbols on it's chest and sides of it's arms. Color scheme is the same overall except the eyes are blue instead of red. Force Sensitive: No Skills: Droid Repair Skilled Marksman due to a built in prototype targeting system. Skilled with Demolitions and able to identify weak points in structures due to built in sensors Weaknesses: Ion Weapons Susceptible to reprogramming due to currently limited software protection. You need to physically gain access to the systems in his head to reprogram him however. Motivation: A desire to prove himself as more then a piece of property or as an expendable foot solder. History: Battle Droid 5972 or "Guardian" as he would later be known as was a B2 super battle droid that fought for the Separatists and was badly damaged in the battle. The droid was left to be taken apart by scavengers. Fortunately for the droid, a bounty hunter who had done his best to remain neutral in the battle found him while going through the battlefield and after a few moments of thinking and with some difficulty managed to get the droid in the back of his speeder and took off back towards his hideout. It took a few weeks to fix the droid and correctly reprogram him to not attack anyone it considered a threat but eventually the deed was done and the Bounty hunter gained a new bodyguard. The two of them made quite a team and the hunter was able to heavily modify the droid with all the credits the two were making. It took a while but with all the upgrades and modifications to the weapons systems and the CPU and the various other systems, something unexpected happened. Guardian achieved what could only be called sentience. He had developed new subroutines in his mechanical mind and had begun to question his own existence. As time went by, it became more and more evident that the droid was becoming something more then just a regular battle droid. Rather then performing a memory wipe, his Bounty hunter companion encouraged the growth of his mind and did his best to assist him. After two years, the droid had become self-aware in all but name. Guardian considered the Bounty hunter his only friend even if he never spoke the words to him. For a number of years, the duo continued with the Bounty Hunter occupation becoming quite wealthy and famous especially on Maldra where most of their work was done. Things changed when the Empire arrived however. After an incident in a crowded cantina with a spiced out Twi’lek the two had never met before who attempted to serve them alimony papers resulted in a gunfight, the Bounty hunter had a bounty placed on his head which was almost immediately collected by a number of stormtroopers two days later who shot him in the back as he attempted to escape the town. Guardian immediately began to assess the situation. He was now alone on Maldra. He had no allies and in essence, he was a piece of property that anyone could claim. After processing the information for seven point six seconds, he turned and began to head towards their safe house. As expected, the safe house had been ransacked once word had gotten out of the bounty hunter's death. Fortunately the looters had missed a hidden lock-box hidden beneath a workbench. After grabbing the credits, Guardian set out and hired a transport to take him to the Mandalorian Enclave. As first expected, the droid was not given a warm welcome when he approached the enclave. Many of the Mandalorians wished to disassemble him for parts on sight but the fact that the droid had deactivated it's weapons and had allowed itself to be seen from such a far distance away gave the higher ups in the enclave reason to question if it was malfunctioning or if there was something more at work here.

OK, so, first things first. Why are the symbols Mandalorian? Was the bounty hunter Mandalorian? If he was, why didn't he stay in the Enclave or, more importantly, at least inform them he was there and then leave instructions with the Droid that should anything happen to him, he should go to them? Also, why does the droid go to the Mandalorians? I hate to be brutal, but most of them would think "Hey, target practice."
