The OMEN agents continued to fire at them, even as the ice wall covered them all completely. The gun shots were still loud and Antoinette covered her ears to keep out the awful sound as much as she could. She saw the stray bullet hit Demetria but Demetria just kept going. Flynn came and grabbed Annie’s arm, dragging her away but Annie protested, worried for Demetria’s safety and health. She had just been shot! She looked back but Demetria was right behind them after a few well placed ice blasts. Antoinette reached out for her friend, grasping her hand tightly, even though it was freezing and pulled her into the stairwell with them. ”You’ve been shot!” she exclaimed and went to examine her friend further. Of course there was nothing Annie could do. She knew basic first aid, but for a gunshot wound? That went over her head. They didn’t have much time after that. A inhumanly loud scream came over Flynn’s radio and Annie froze up as the scream hit her ears. Within seconds though the radio was gone and another ice wall, or rather dome, came up around them to block out the scream. Annie breathed heavily, her head pounding. Antoinette looked at her companions in mild disbelief. Was it always like this with them? No big deal? Annie started to laugh, perhaps she had gone mad now. ”What even was that?” she asked, coming back from her laughter. It had to be another mutant. Annie was just starting to realize how big this place was and what horrors it contained. She looked around the ice dome, mildly surprised by it’s beauty in such a tragic situation. It reminded her of the first snowfall of the year. How the entire world would fall silent, not even the wind would blow. It created such a peaceful, inhuman atmosphere. She shut her eyes for a moment, letting the feeling wash over her and wash away the fear of earlier.
