[*]Resources: Dr. Serizawa works for Monarch, a secret division of the BPRD created specifically to study the "Titans". They are comprised of top-scientists and sport incredibly high-tech gadgets suited in studying and detecting these monsters. Any information on the Titans should be directed to he and/or to other Monarch members immediately.
Personality: Dr. Serizawa is an intelligent and somewhat stoic individual with a deep respect for the titanic organisms he studies. He is very critical of the human race, particularly towards their attempts to dominate their planet and their scant regard for the rest of nature. He believes that the titans' existence - particularly Gojira's - is in the good of nature, as he appears to restore balance when it is disrupted. Backstory: Ishiro Serizawa was born in Hiroshima, Japan on April 4th, 1945, several months before the atomic bombing of said city, to Daisuke and Emiko Serizawa. Daisuke was an honorably discharged WWII soldier, who's right eye had been compromised in a battle two years earlier, and had begun his studies as a scientist, while his wife was a nurse for her local hospital. Several days prior to the bombing, the family moved to Tokyo, Japan, after Daisuke was accepted to the University of Tokyo - unknowingly avoiding their fate under the iron hand of America's first atomic bomb. There Ishiro was described as a quiet yet intelligent child who often dwelled within books of Japanese mythology told by his father. He was also very curious towards his father's work and also desired to be a scientist just like him. However in 1954, at the age of nine, Ishiro bore witness as Tokyo was attacked by the manifestation of atomic bomb - Gojira. They were forced to evacuate the city as their home was destroyed by the rampaging monster. However, his father would be soon approached by his friend, Hideo Ogata, and they discussed about using one of the former's invention - the Oxygen Destroyer - to kill Godzilla once and for all. Daisuke was heavily reluctant at first to use his knowledge against the beast, even during the days prior to Godzilla's rampage, due to the destructive power of the weapon. However, only after seeing first hand at the destruction of Tokyo, did he agree in using it only once - but not until after burning all of his research to ensure no one will recreate this weapon. And so, when he entered Tokyo Bay, Daisuke cut the sacrificed himself by cutting his own line and dying with Godzilla. With the only prototype of the Oxygen Destroyer detonated, his notes destroyed, and his own life at an end, Daisuke hoped to ensure that no one would ever discover the same terrible power he had just unleashed. Ishiro didn't learn the truth about his father's disappearance until several years later, when he accidentally came across some of his father's old diary. It turned out that not all of his notes were destroyed - at least the ones mentioning Godzilla and Daisuke's decision to sacrifice himself. It also revealed that Hideo Ogata was, in fact, a member of the Monarch division of the BPRD and that his father unintentionally joined Monarch as an unofficial member days prior to his death in the wake of Godzilla's sightings. Ishiro finally knew the truth, however any form of anger manifested instead into a form of upmost curiosity. He began to continue with his father's research and eventually was able to find Hideo, who told him all that he knew about his father, his projects, as well as Gojira and others like him. Now in the current loop, Ishiro found himself willingly agreeing to join Monarch's quest to study Gojira and other giant "Titans" that lurked in the depths, ready to reveal themselves to the world. Decades later, he would find himself mentoring a young Vivienne Graham, who he took under his wing as his assistant/student. Now he serves as one of the senior scientists and as one of the leading forces in studying the Titans.
