Is there anything that's worth more Than peace and love on the planet Earth?[/sub]
Powers And Abilities Half Gem - Steven is a hybrid of Rose Quartz and Greg Universe and has several abilities that a pure Gem has, but not all of them. For example, he's capable of using the wrap pads and bubble objects and gemstones with such ease. However, he isn't able to shapeshift and cannot retreat into his gem when he is seriously wounded. But, he can summon a shield, which bears a striking resemblance to Rose Quartz's shield, and a bubble that changes sizes. Unfortunately, he hasn't learned to control his magical abilities, which fluctuate erratically from time to time because of his emotions. If he is happy, then his abilities tend to work as intended; however, if he's angry or sad, the abilities will either malfunction or fail entirely. Fusion - Fusion is when two or more are bonded into one single entity that's completely unique and special. The minds and bodies become one new gem that's different to already existing gems. For example, Garnet is the fusion of Ruby and Sapphire and doesn't look and act exactly like a non-fusion Garnet. Of course, other gems can fused like Pearl and Amethyst and unfuse at any moment. Garnet chooses to remain fused because Ruby and Sapphire love each other and can't stand being apart; but, fusion isn't inherently romantic and can represent other relationships like friendship. And in order to fuse, a Gem must be in perfect sync mentally, physically, and emotionally. If one of them is unbalance, it can lead to an unstable fusion. An unstable fusion is the result of clashing personalities like Sugilite. Being unstable can also lead to de-fuse when a fusion is experiencing an overwhelming emotion or conflicted with an opinion. And there are forced fusions which are responsible for the creation of Gem Mutants, gem shards that are binded together at the edges instead of changing colors and appearances. They are shattered to the point that they are unaware of themselves, nor what they are doing. Finally, there are the corrupted gems. Gems that were impacted by the Corrupting Light, a cataclysmic event and final assault after Pink Diamond's shattering, became corrupted in the matter of seconds. Almost all members of the Crystal Gems and some members of Homeworld were hit by the light and transformed into monsters. Corrupted Gems behave like wild animals and exhibit behaviors like feeding and predation. And they lose their basic powers like summoning their weapons and shapeshift. With thousands of them roaming around the world, the remaining Crystal Gems made it their duty to containing them before they harm someone. In order to prevent them from regenerating, the corrupted must be proofed into their gem and contained by a bubble. And if the bubble isn't broken, then its teleported to the Templar and kept out of human intervention. Half Human - At the end of the day, Steven is still a human being that needs to eat and sleep unlike gems. The reason why the Crystal Gems haven't made him one of their members is the lack of protection. If his shield and bubble are damaged, then it could leave him in a vulnerable state that could get him hurt or killed. Because of that risk, Garnet and Pearl taught him how to wield the shield and sword that his mother once used for defense. He would rather find peaceful solutions and treats his sword as the last resort. As for education, Steven is currently home-schooled due to an incident that took place in the six grade which got him expelled. Greg, with help from Pearl, decided to enroll his son in home school afterwards. And thanks to Pearl, he was taught to understand Gem language, a native language that Homeworld uses. Also, he can fuse with other gems and possibility with other people (only if he has bonded with them). Origin And Backstory Rose Quartz, the leader of the Crystal Gems, sacrificed her physical form in order to give birth to her son, Steven Quartz Universe. Greg Universe, wife of Rose Quartz, took his son away for the Crystal Gems to let them mourn in peace. For the first years of his life, Greg and his close friend, Vidalia, took care of the child. He wanted to own a proper house and not rely on Vidalia too much, but he couldn't afford one in Beach City. So he went to the Crystal Gems because their base, the Crystal Temple, was a perfect place to build a beach house and asked for their permission. Garnet, the new leader of the Crystal Gems, agreed on the condition that Steven lives with them since he is a human/gem hybrid. And soon, the other two members met Steven for the first time. Amethyst immediately liked Steven while Pearl didn't know how to feel about the child. After the house was constructed, Steven and Greg moved in while Vidalia wanted to raise a family of her own. And nine years of growth and development passed before Greg moved back into his van. He still took care of his son, but he couldn't stand living with the Crystal Gems especially Pearl. Meanwhile, the Crystal Gems began to teach him about his potential powers and how to wield Rose Quartz's sword when he turned eleven without his father's knowledge. At first, Steven didn't believe that he possessed his mother's power until one day during lunch. He saw that some eight graders were teasing a six grader and decided to step in between. The eight graders focused their attentions on Steven and looked to start a fight with him. In response, he formed a bubble that sent them flying across the library. The librarian saw the aftermath and sent both of them to the principal's office. The eight graders told what happened to the principal and he expelled Steven. Greg was understandably upset and questioned his son about it. Steven didn't say anything until Amethyst accidentally revealed to training him. He tried to calm his father down, but he didn't listen and demanded an explanation for Garnet. She defended her choice to train Steven and lie to his father about it. Pearl made the situation worse with her snide remarks towards him. Greg had enough dealing with them and told Steven to come with him. But, he refused since he wanted to know more about his mother and the gems. He tried once more to convince his son to come with him, but he refused to leave. Greg did not agree with his son's decision, but he understood wanting to know who Rose Quartz was.
