Not your usual dwarf I guess, but I figure this is worth a shot. If its 'too much' be sure to tell me, I still want to fit in. Heard it from his father, it means very little to him. Gender: Male Age: 69 Career/Profession and Skills: An explorer extraordinaire! Well, this is how he'd present himself, 'Disaffected mercenary' would be closer to what most would call him. Still, Marco is a very, very well traveled man, especially for what dwarves would consider to be his young age, having been everywhere from Lustria to Cathay! This has given him a good experience with foreign culture as well as much more expertise in sailing than is common for most dwarves. As is important for any man traveling the world, he's gotten a few tricks fighting in a shall we say, less honorable fashion. Equipment: He is most comfortable wearing mostly human fashion and this is seen through his plate armor, Nuln handgun (MUCH better than dwarven made ones he thinks) and Lucinian Lucerte polehammer. Still, he keeps a dwarven hand axe as a backup weapon and momento from his father... though he does prefer to compliment it with a human shield. Other than that items he'd consider notable are a small barrel of rum and a single flask of Skink wine, the first being his choice of alcohol and the second practically an alchemical brew of fortitude he keeps for 'when things get rough. Something others would find perhaps more relevant would be his purse (and boots and other secret pockets on his person) containing Lustrian gold and trinkets from other places in the world he sells and gathers were he goes, making sure he always has comfortable funds wherever he is to help himself out. Physical Description: Other than his 3ft11, Marco is probably the most undwarven dwarf one will ever meet. His beard is (please hold the content of your stomach my dwarven brethren) kept cut and trimmed. The horror! His brown pride indeed doesn't extend more than 3 inches and is kept well tamed and under control, same goes for his hairs. Otherwise he as stated before prefers human fashion to that of his ancestors and keeps visible on himself both a symbol of Valaya and Manann. Background/History: First of all to get this out of the way, he was named Marco because his father took an oath to a human companion he was trapped in a dire situation with in Lustria that if they made it out alive, he'd name his firstborn son after him. After having not just survived but managed to profit from pilfered lizardmen trinkets, Marco's father settled down in Tilea for a while and found himself a sweet lass who died in childbirth afterward he took him along to his new adventure in the New World... or so he always said until Marco was an adult and they themselves got in a situation they didn't think they'd live through, his father than admited he went to Sartosa and had a love affair with a dwarven prostitute right until he found he had drank all his gold and, with no other options, he left back to Lustria, but took him with him prefering to give his son the life of the child of an explorer rather than that of the son of a whore. Thus Marco mostly grew up on ships and in Port Reaver in the new world colonies as the only dwarf his age. He was expected to mature like his human friends did even if it meant he was thrown in the world woefully underaged and unprepared for a dwarf. Still, he learned! Exploring the New World and trading with his father until that faithful day when they went too far south and ended up on the Vampire coast. The situation was desperate but thanks to his father's sacrifice, he and a couple survivors managed to make it out of there alive. Afterward, well, it was one adventure until the other really. Trade spices with Estalia, get captured by dark elves and enslaved only to be liberated by a high elf patrol before reaching Naggarond, spend some time on Ulthuan, trade with the elves, be chased out because the captain did something to a maiden. Sartosa, the border princes, protect a caraven to the empire, Nuln, Altdorf... After this a short few years in a mercenary company, a disaster in Mordheim, Kislev, Erengrad, a trip alllllll the way around Araby, Hind, to Cathay. Get stranded there for a year, join a very suspicious pirate outfit (that's saying something) led by a dark elf, raid a little, travel to Naggarond, go through the continent through underground rivers filled with monsters, finally back to the new world and after a temple raid and risking his life again, well... To Barak-Varr. To be honest, Marco didn't come here with any intention to go on another adventure, he's had enough adventures to last a lifetime. He wants to reconnect with his kin, find a wife, have children, belong somewhere after spending so much time being 'shortie' on boats and cities of other races.
