Zachaeus noticed the saddened expression on his son's face and made a complex gesture with his right hand that was the equivalent of saying, "You wish to see such a practice ended in all kingdoms don't you?" While he was doing this, Zachaeus simultaneously kept the king and his daughter occupied with talk of politics and potential trade agreements in order to keep them from noticing the wordless conversation currently unfolding between him and his son.
