It's like I'm playing hide and seek
when it's time for slumber
I count it down and never peek,
Thinking number after number.

Even still, I cannot find
the switch of which I want to flick.
I close my eyes, force myself blind
But it never seems to do the trick.

Eventually I will surely see 
where it is you like to hide
Mr Sandman, I beg, I plea
Let me sleep, because I am fried.
