And of course the Rustics would accept his involvement in their recreations! They had little choice! If they truly wished to shove their opponents into the dirt, they required someone of class. Someone who didn't just swing their weapon, or magic, or...claw...wildly around the battlefield and hope to strike a winning blow. The other boy stood up, his extra height over Aegus easily emphasized. Hfft...the meek still do not realize to stoop in the presence of their betters, he scoffed inwardly, but of little toil I suppose...perhaps I can teach them proper etiquette while they are cheering me on during this tournament.. "You'll be the first member of the team then." "Only naturally.." Aegus said as he looked at the raised hand with an unpleasant look, reminiscent of how a wolf raises its lips to reveal its teeth and deliver a snarl. How dare he even suggest...Gah. The lack of manner is almost unbearable.. he thought, feeling a little queasy at the thought of shaking Nidgardt's hand. However - Aegus' attention soon turned elsewhere before he could decline the hand. Close by, another savior was granting a gift. Though...it seemed this gift would be transferred through physical contact, not the likes that Aegus would allow himself to commit. The voluptuous girl he had seen as he had been eavesdropping seemed to be using her powers on this other person, who had entered the room shortly before the Equip-user. Soon enough though, after the girl's action, ghostly chains soon surrounded the shy lower-person.. BOOF! A lusty, thunderous noise boomed as the chains blew apart, sending nearby classroom objects across the room. Books, flyers, papers - one of which flew straight into Aegus' face, who was standing quite close by - all sent tumbling through the air by the sudden release of power. The short boy's long white hair was blasted out of place as well, now looking quite unruly as he reached up to peel the parchment from his face and throw it away. The dust was cleared - and the first thing the boy noticed was one of the spectral chains was uncomfortably close to his face - as he hadn't moved backwards even a step. His hand slowly rose up from below, forming around the ominous glowing chain, though without touching it. Then he looked past it. "Oh..?" It had seemed...the one person become...two? "Peculiar.." he pondered aloud. But suddenly, during the other student's bouts of joy, the chains rattled and pulled handsomely away from Aegus, reforming closer to their charge, then emitting a bright flash. And then only one was left.. ...I must admit...even if they are peasants...some of their powers are oddities of which I am intrigued by.. Aegus conceded to himself. His thought was interrupted by another student rushing from the hall, asking if they were all okay. "Of course I--" he started to say, but someone else beat him to it. “We're fine,” they said. “please leave us. We're in the middle of a meeting.” Aegus looked to the speaker. It was a girl he had met recently after he had arrived to this school - Alicia. He was never quite sure why he had hung out with her, but people did call her a Witch on a daily basis. Perhaps her looks had distracted him from her lower-caste level long enough for her to plant him with a spell? In any case, it was of little significance. They hadn't hung out for long. Merely a day. Now she was to him as most other students were - a simple boor.
