She is no less the bright, studious little thing she was for most of her earlier years, but has changed over the last year and a half or so to adjust to her changing circumstances and world view. Coloured by a disdain for authority, she has taken her innate sass and energy and directed it towards less constructive activities. While she still values hard work and self-improvement, she has grown to dislike the person she once was, directing her annoyance at herself at others who come from similar walks of life to her. Now, she aggressively accosts other pampered, rich little things, looking down on their success as "dancing for the establishment".[/i][/indent]
[center][u][b]Biography[/b][/u][/center][indent][i]Hailing from a wealthy, traditionalist family out of the Kantō region of Japan, Maki has always been the subject of high expectations. Her family did their best to be constructive about it as they pushed their eldest daughter to greater and greater heights, tutoring her in all subjects of academics and even martial arts. Some people might have collapsed under the pressure, but Maki was inspired by it. She pressed on, and excelled in every challenge her parents put in front of her. Before long, she was ready for school - here, she found herself faced with the greatest challenge of all. Living away from home, as she attended a prestigious elementary school in Academy city.

Living away from home taught Maki a lot of things. Like how to be self-sufficient, and how to ask others for help if she couldn't handle something on her own. But most importantly, it taught her the taste of victory. An honours student through Elementary School and going into Middle School, she felt like nothing could stop her as she fully enriched her mind with power and knowledge. But all of that was soon to come to a halt.

While attending Middle School, something changed. Maybe it was just how she perceived others, or maybe it was a difference in the education staff or social environment of her new school. Whatever it was, it nagged at Maki. The establishment she had once sought to improve began to seem antagonistic, the peers she once associated with grew to feel distant. This feeling of discomfort grew worse over time, eventually culminating in frustration in school life and in herself. It was at the height of this, that Maki decided "screw school", and dropped out.

[u]Description[/u] [indent][i]Maki's power manifests as passive suppression of the "danger sense" in relation to actions she takes, within a radius of 10 meters. Even with context, it can be very hard to see her as little more than a harmless girl going about her daily business. This power is amplified greatly once she begins to focus it actively on a single individual. Soon enough, it becomes impossible to see any action she takes as harmful - she could literally be holding a gun to somebody's head, and they would laugh it off as if it were nothing. 

Because her ability essentially re-brands one's perception of events, even if one leaves the radius and begins to consider her actions after the fact, the human brain can't possibly classify anything she did as "dangerous".[/i][/indent][/hider]
