Her shift went by fairly quickly. The night was silent and it left her alone with her thoughts. She mainly reflected on Gavin's words and how to tackle the situation regarding the male knight. For a moment, she wondered if perhaps he was right that some day she would regret her decision to run off with Crow. It might be possible considering that she had no real idea of how she would handle peasant life. Maybe she would grow to miss her job and family far too much and that would cause for a longing for her old life. Penelope glanced over towards Crow's sleeping form and smiled faintly to herself, quickly pushing such worries aside. She'd find a different job in the outer villages and as for her family, they would be safe once the war was over. Given some time, we'll probably have our own family anyways.. She closed her eyes for a moment as she thought about the life they had been talking about having after the war and felt her heart flutter excitedly. The knight felt certain that Gavin was wrong. Afterall, she had already experienced what life could be like without Crow for two years. While it hadn't been bad, she had never completely gotten over leaving him behind, which was evident to her after his return. Time wore on and eventually she woke Olivia up for the last shift. With Olivia taking over, she returned to Crow's side. Penelope laid down quietly, pressing her back up against him as she closed her eyes and fell asleep once again. --- The next morning, Penelope stirred as sunlight hit her eyes and she began to notice the sound of footsteps. She let out a small groan and slowly opened her eyes, glancing around the camp as she noticed Olivia waking up Gavin. She stretched out her legs before turning over to face Crow. She smiled, enjoying the moment of finally being able to wake up next to him after so long, then pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Guess it's time to get up." she murmured.
