Jake sat in his car, an older Honda Accord, and tried to gain his nerves. Eyes closed he continually said to himself You can do this, just have to get your schedule and make it through your first day of class.... His heart ragged in his chest as his mind raced. He had just moved to the small coastal town of Seaside from Portland. Him and his mother had argued for the weeks preceding the move; Jake had begged to just find a way to make it on his own in Portland rather than move to Florida. But she wouldn't have any of it. They had to move. He was use to moving around, his mother was a nurse and was almost always getting new offers from different hospitals. Because of this, he was more shy and reserved. His palms sweaty he was tempted with the idea to simply turn around and go home; his mother was at work and would never know. Finally he let out a long soft sigh and climbed out of his car, grabbing his backpack from the passenger seat. Just breathe and relax. Find your class and you'll be home before you know it He thought to himself as he walked into the nice large high school. He entered into the office and approached the secretary. "Hey, I'm new here....I need my class schedule." He says in a soft tone to the office administrator. "Ok just let me grab your name" She responds without even looking up. "Its Jake Todd. I'm a senior" He answers as he looks around the office, turning his head to see a young girl who was attractive, but appeared to be in trouble at the office. "There seems to be an issue, I can't find it. Let me go back and take a look. Please have a seat while I'm gone" She offered as she got up and went into the back. Jake sighed, he just wanted his schedule. He sat down in the chair, leaning his head back and keeping to himself.
