The king simply nodded.

"Very well."
He narrowed his eyes at the servants. Inside his head, he was smirking while thinking about something. The prince, Edward, and his daughter had seemed to take a shine to each other. It gave the king hope that he'd he able to marry his daughter off to a powerful family. It would create the strong political alliance that he sought, as well as to ensure the safety of his kingdom. The future was starting to look bright. 

He didn't see any dark clouds ahead. 



Edward and Emily were walking down the halls. The vampire prince had already shown the human princess some portraits and armor. He told her stories. She listened closely and with interest. 

Emily could not help but smile a little bit. She was away from her father, if only for a time. At least she had a little bit of freedom, she thought. She glanced at Edward. 


Edward looked at her. He gave her a smile of his own. He asked her if there was anything that she always wanted to see. 


"Are there any gardens here?"
Emily loved gardens, especially flower gardens. Edward nodded. 

"Yes, in fact, there is one."
Edward offered her his hand and took her to see it. He acted ever the gentleman.
